OWINGS MILLS — Through his charitable foundation and in conjunction with Bible Church of God, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Anquan Boldin is offering free life insurance policies to needy families.

He’s giving out over 2,000 life insurance policies to low-income families around his hometown of Pahokee, Fla.

There’s a seminar on July 23 in Pahokee for enrollment.

The 10-year, $50,000 insurance policies would pay for children’s education if their mother or father die.

To qualify, parents or legal guardians have to be in good health and must be legal US residents between the ages of 19 and 42 with an annual income of $10,000 to $40,000.

The foundation is holding the event in the Pahokee High School cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 23 at 900 Larrimore Road, Pahokee, Fla.

Families are asked to their driver’s license, social security number, recent pay stub, and copy of last year’s tax returns.

The program hopes to expand to the Baltimore and Phoenix communities in the future.

"When you’re busy working and struggling to make ends meet, the importance of life insurance is often not thought about," Boldin said. "This program ensures the continuation of education for our youth and our community and brings another added value towards our mission to help underprivileged youth."

HBO HARBAUGH ~ In what’s going to be a big story line this fall when brothers John Harbaugh and Jim Harbaugh’s respective football teams meet on Thanksgiving at M&T Bank Stadium, HBO’s Real Sports is doing a profile on the Harbaugh family.

The feature from reporter Andrea Kremer will debut July 19 at 10 p.m. ET on HBO.

The segment will profile John Harbaugh, the Baltimore Ravens’ head coach, Jim Harbaugh, the San Francisco 49ers’ rookie head coach, and their father Jack Harbaugh, a retired former college football coach at Western Michigan and Western Kentucky.

The sports program catches up with the Harbaughs during a family vacation.

Should be worth checking out and HBO tells me my advance screening copy of the program is in the mail.
