Lombardi's Way Ravens prepared to tag Rice not once but twice

Word is that the Ravens are ready, willing and able to sign Ray Rice to a deal on par with the deal recently inked by Arian Foster. Both are the centerpieces of their respective offenses, each combining homerun hitting capabilities with polished receiving skills.

Foster has a little less wear and tear than Rice with one less season and 300 fewer carries. Both are 25 years old. The comparables are clearly there (see chart below).

But one source has indicated that Rice’s agent Todd France is not budging and wants something measurably greater than the deal Foster and the Texans agreed to. Another source has shared that the Ravens are prepared to venture through the next two seasons with Rice as their franchised player and then bid farewell if it comes to that. The preference however is to sign Rice to a Foster-like deal because the Ravens value not only his productivity but his team-centric approach and involvement in the community.
