There is no doubt that once Ray Lewis retires from the NFL, he’ll have no problem finding another job.
Multiple times within the past year, cell phone videos have surfaced from within college locker rooms of Lewis doing what he is most famous for (besides bone-crushing tackles that is) – motivational speeches.
As in the case with Elon University football before their 2011 Spring game, or with Stanford’s men’s basketball team before a contest in the NIT, Lewis’ speeches were so powerful it has been widely accepted that “Ray Lewis will make you want to run through a wall.”
The last time the Ravens heard from Lewis regarding their own team came from within the locker room as the battered and bruised Ravens huddled one last time after a crushing loss in the AFC Championship game.
Lewis stood with his fist in the air saying, “God has never made a mistake” and “There will be one Super Bowl champ crowned this year, so the way we feel today, somebody is going to feel like that tomorrow and someone will feel like that in a week.”
Even though the city of Baltimore was just as heartbroken as the team, to see someone like Lewis who puts everything he has into football, stand up and say what he did helped put a Band-Aid on the fan base’s wound.
With the very anticipated Madden 13 video game releasing on August 28th, video game mogul EA Sports is trying to get as many fans to pre-order as possible and they’ve enlisted Lewis (who donned the cover in 2005) to help motivate gamers to pre-order.
A Ray Lewis-esque commercial hit the Internet earlier this week and it’s already been shared through social media all throughout the country. If Lewis doesn’t make you want to pre-order 100 games, I don’t know what will.
See for yourself…
