The Ravens announced today just minutes before their scheduled practice at M&T Bank Stadium that they have signed pass-rushing linebacker Stevie Baggs, Jr. You know some from my ancestry might refer to him as Stevie Bagg-O-Quarterback.

Baggs, 30 has spent time with the Detroit Lions (2004-05) and the Arizona Cardinals (2010). In between he’s bounced around the Canadian Football League and most recently he was with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in the CFL.

According to his Wikipedia Baggs is well known by his teammates and the CFL as Shakespeare because all he does is make plays.

Unfortunately none have been in the NFL.

Baggs will wear No. 40 for the time being. To make room for Baggs the Ravens released offensive tackle Paul Madsen.
