Street Talk Smiley Ed Reed concedes that he looks like “Django”

Posted in Street Talk

I don’t think Ed Reed has stopped smiling since the two-minute warning of the AFC Championship Game in Foxboro.

He was grinning from ear-to-ear on the field post-game. He was smiling like a goof in the locker room during the Lamar Hunt Trophy presentation.

And yesterday at the Ravens send-off rally, Reed was singing “Two Tickets to Paradise,” and laughing it up with the Baltimore crowd.

Not that I blame the guy at all. I’m ecstatic to be seeing this side of my favorite Raven as he prepares for his first Super Bowl, which he will play just a handful of miles from where he was born.

Ed’s a guy that catches some grief from time to time for making comments that fans may not want to hear, but right now everything that comes out of his smiling mouth is pure gold.

Today at Super Bowl Media Day, Reed was just as jovial.

Ed was talking to Deion Sanders of NFL Network, and had some fun with “Prime.”

Prime compared Ed to Django, of the movie “Django Unchained.”

Laughing, Reed said “I’ll give it to you [that I look like Django]. I’ll take off the hat…show ‘em the fro!”

Still laughing and talking about his hair, Sanders and Reed continued to joke.

“This is football hair at it’s best,” Reed said. “If you pull up an old picture of Night Train Lane, or of Prime, you know…this would be a Jheri Curl!”

Reed is loose, to say the least, at the Super Bowl.
