In the media, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kapernick’s body of work as a young NFL quarterback has taken a back seat to the tattoo work that was actually on his body.

A heavily tattooed player like Kaepernick is no longer a rarity in the NFL; it’s actually more of the norm if you ever have the chance to walk through an NFL locker room. Kaepernick’s tattoos receive attention because of the position he is playing and the fact that quarterbacks and kickers are some of the only positions left in football not accustomed to heavily inked players.

In the opposite locker room, Ravens WR/KR Jacoby Jones is also covered in tattoos. In fact, there isn’t much available skin left between his neck and waistline that hasn’t been under the needle. Like Kaepernick, Jones’ body is filled with plenty of text and after Hurricane Katrina ripped through Jones’ hometown in the 9th Ward  in Louisiana, he wanted to “put his city on his back,” literally, and covered it with a commemorative tattoo.

One of the buildings on Jones’ back is the Superdome, the same venue in which Jones scored two touchdowns in a hometown performance that led to him having strong consideration for being named Super Bowl MVP. While appearing on the Jimmy Kimmel show last week, Jones said he had planned to get the logos of the Ravens and Super Bowl XLVII tattooed on the roof of the Superdome.

According to his Instagram page, Jones added two new Super Bowl art pieces to his collage.

Jones not only added to the roof of the Superdome but he also commerated his 108 yard kickoff return by tattooing “108″ with the zero being a face similar to the “Mr. Yuck” stickers placed on chemicals. As for why Jones chose the face, we aren’t certain, but knowing Jones’ personality, it’s not shocking.

It's probably because he said, in an interview (maybe on Kimmel) that he yacked on the sidelines when he was done that run back! LOL...
