It was a busy afternoon for the Ravens front office on Monday. After trading wide receiver Anquan Boldin to the San Francisco 49ers, the Ravens placed tenders on half of their restricted free agents.

Of the six players eligible, tight end Dennis Pitta would receive the most attention on the open market and the Ravens have tendered him with that thought in mind. According to the Baltimore Sun, Pitta was given a second-round tender, paying him a fully guaranteed $2.02 million for 2013.

The fourth-round pick in the 2010 draft from BYU has become a favorite target of quarterback Joe Flacco, surpassing fellow tight end and draft class alum Ed Dickson on the depth chart. Dickson was taken by the Ravens a pick before Pitta in the third-round.

Also a restricted free agent, Dickson received an original-round tender worth $1.33 million.

Another restricted free agent who would draw some interest on the open market is defensive tackle Arthur Jones. Jones was a valuable piece to the Ravens defense as they transitioned from the departure of Cory Redding in 2012 via free agency.

Originally a fifth-round pick, Jones’ tender information hasn’t been released some sources have indicated that he’ll receive a second-round designation like Pitta.

The three remaining restricted free agents for the Ravens are long snapper Morgan Cox, WR David Reed and OT Ramon Harewood. The Ravens are not expected to place a tender on any of these players as they could likely be retained for a minimum contract, less than the $1.33 million guaranteed they’d receive in 2013 with an original-round tender.

April 19. Teams have 7 days to match an offer sheet.

They can be lost if another team signs them to an offer sheet that the Ravens refuse to match. If the Ravens don't match, they get the corresponding value of the pick. Pitta and Jones would yield a 2nd round pick and Dickson a 3rd.
