THE WORLD’S TOUGHEST EXPEDITION. MISSION 14™

In the most extreme adventure ever attempted, Nick Cienski (pictured with Ray Lewis and Doug Pitt), veteran mountaineer and Senior Director of Innovation (Special Projects) at Under Armour, member of the Ray Lewis Mt. Kilimanjaro team and diehard Ravens fan will summit the highest 14 peaks on the planet in record time.

Extreme Mountaineering. Extreme Compassion

Only 31 people have ever successfully summited all 14 mountains, and of those, the fastest took over seven years to do so. Cienski will attempt at least two major world records: the most 8000m peaks summited in one year, and the fastest ever to summit all 14. No climber or climbing team has ever even attempted the speed and assault that will be accomplished by Mission 14™.

Beginning in 2014, with high altitude mountaineering experts and a diverse team of professionals, the Mission 14™ team is poised confidently for success. Mission 14™ is venturing into uncharted territory. Mission 14™ will be the world’s toughest expedition, and push hard on the limits of what the human body can achieve.

But we’re not just climbing mountains. Cienski and his team are doing it to mobilize a global army of advocates for trafficked children – in the US and around the world. We partner with on the ground nonprofits who exemplify best practices and support them through resources and awareness.

The Logistics

No human has ever attempted climbing so many high altitude peaks in such a short amount of time. Cienski will be accompanied by a team of doctors conducting research on his biometrics, blood, brain, and energy expenditure. Alongside top-notch meteorologists and high-altitude experts, the team is comprised of highly trained professionals and global brand partners with a precise tactical plan and all the skills necessary for success.

The logistical challenges will be equal to the climbing challenges: moving over 250,000 pounds of gear and food into some of the most remote regions on the planet is unprecedented. Over 3,780 porters and nearly 100 support staff will be used in this highly choreographed undertaking — ensuring that the correct gear and staff make it to the correct mountain at the correct time. The ground assault will be overseen by a hand picked team of military veterans, wounded warriors, and expert mountaineering logisticians.

Quite a story, quite a challenge with nearly impossible odds.

Is there any wonder why Nick is a fan of Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens?
