As the Baltimore Ravens continue to try to reel in the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC North, the cherry on top of the good news sundae on Sunday was that they came out of the win with no new significant injuries.
“We didn’t have anything that looks to be major, injury-wise,” John Harbaugh said during his Monday press conference. That’s music to the ears of Ravens fans who saw Haloti Ngata, Daryl Smith, and Lardarius Webb all go out at various times on Sunday. Ngata had to be helped off the field at one point with a left knee injury, but returned to the game later.
On the Bears’ side, they’ve been dealing with a host of injuries all season. Quarterback Jay Cutler left the team’s Week 7 game early, missed Week 9, and left last week’s game early as well (the team had a bye in Week 8). He has already been ruled out for Sunday. The Bears will go with backup Josh McCown, who has played well in relief of Cutler this season.
Linebacker Lance Briggs hasn’t played since Week 7, and will also be out Sunday. The same goes for cornerback Charles Tillman, who was banged up in Week 10’s loss to Detroit and was placed on IR (designated to return).
Here are the full injury reports from today’s practices in Chicago and Owings Mills.
