With the Christmas holiday falling on Wednesday this week, the Ravens and Bengals made a slight adjustment to their respective practice schedules. The teams took the field to begin preparations for their Week 17 clash on Tuesday, while giving the players Wednesday off to spend with their families before getting back to it today. The team’s released “estimated” injury reports on Wednesday to comply with NFL rules.
While this Sunday’s game doesn’t have nearly the ramifications that it would have if the Ravens had won (or if the Bengals had lost) in Week 16, both squads still have plenty to play for. The Ravens need a win and some help to even make the postseason, while Marvin Lewis’ squad needs a win and a New England loss in Buffalo to gain the AFC’s #2 seed and a first-round playoff bye.
The left knee injury that hampered Joe Flacco in practice last week (and obviously impeded him in Sunday’s loss) will again require the quarterback to wear a brace. However, Joe isn’t listed on the injury report at all.
The same cannot be said for key Ravens contributors Arthur Jones (fresh off a great game against New England), who did not practice, Torrey Smith, Elvis Dumervil, or Ray Rice, all of whom participated on a limited basis only. Another starter, center Gino Gradkowski, was also limited.
Here are the full injury reports from Thursday’s practices:
DID NOT PARTICIPATE: CB Asa Jackson (thigh): DT Arthur Jones (concussion)
LIMITED PARTICIPATION: LB Elvis Dumervil (ankle); C Gino Gradkowski (knee); RB Ray Rice (thigh); WR Torrey Smith (thigh)

DID NOT PARTICIPATE: LB Vontaze Burfict (concussion); TE Tyler Eifert (neck); TE Jermaine Gresham (hamstring); CB Terence Newman (knee); DT Devon Still (back)
