Street Talk Next Ravens Offensive Coordinator?

Now that Jim Caldwell is the Lions’ next head coach, the Ravens need to decide on their next offensive coordinator.

Potential candidates that could emerge as the Ravens’ next offensive coordinator are:

- Brad Childress, Chiefs spread game analyst - A former offensive coordinator with both the Eagles and Browns, and a former head coach with the Vikings, Childress and Harbaugh worked together with the Eagles.

- Rob Chudzinski - Recently fired as head coach of the Browns, Chudzinkski was an offensive coordinator with both the Panthers and Browns.

- Jim Hostler, Ravens wide receiver coach – He was the 49ers offensive coordinator in 2007, and as the team’s wide receivers coach for six years, Hostler already has a working relationship with head coach John Harbaugh and the team’s returning offensive players.

Fix the o-line or the OC won't matter.

Cmon Man! If the organization is not considering college talent they will be short changing themselves. There are too many creative playcallers...Montgomery - Baylor, Morris - Clemson, Nussmier - Bama ( and Ozzie loves him some Bama), etc...I have grown weary of the currentt NFL coaching-go-round. But out of the retreads I like Chud although Kubiak is intimate with ZBS, and we are stuck with Juan.

Congrats to Jim C. Norv is the perfect choice. I'm starting to the Flacco is a OC killer. 2 in 2 yrs. Jim would have been fired if not for the lions. They also let go Jim Zorn a few years back. He actually developed flacco some.

The guy sucked, glad he is gone!

Glad the guy is gone, seems like a good person but absolutely horrible as a OC.

based on that list it is Norv or bust

Kyle Shanahan if they keep the stupid zone blocking scheme Chudders if they want to win with what they have on the line

Greatest move the ravens ever made getting rid of this bum Caldwell. I see all the Lions fans don't want him ether... as long as he is out of Baltimore. The Ravens need Norv Turner or someone outside the Ravens as a OC not some John Harbaugh butt kisser yes man that makes Harbs feel good about himself. I hope this owner is smart enough to realize this

For godsakes, let's just go with someone who has had SUCCESS designing an offense. After getting raided for years, the Ravens do not have a deep well of coaching talent to choose from, and they've never had sought-after coaches on the offensive side. I've got to think that you either go with a proven offensive mind (e.g. Turner) or with a hot young assistant on a team with a real offense that isn't predicated on having Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, 'cuz we don't!

Unfortunately I don't think the Browns will let Norv go. They will at the very least hold off (firing) as long as possible so that we can't wait any longer and are forced to go with someone else.

What the hell is a spread game analyst....sounds like a run game coordinator! Next we won't have a QB he will be the on field execution director!

NO Jim Hostler. Just say NO to Jim Hostler... History has proven that's a bad idea. Norv Turner please. Please Norv Turner...

Cam was fired for four years of offensive futility. Zorn was released by CAM for not getting along with CAM. Joe had nothing to do with that and lobbied to have him stay. As for Jim, he was hired under the idea of developing Matt Stafford, after helping Joe and even Peyton become Super Bowl winning QBs. But you think whatever you like.

Report are saying the ravens were targeting Ben Macadoo from GB...would have been nice

Norv would be awesome but the Browns won't let him go until after the Super Bowl. Norv turned Cleveland's offense into a dangerous squad in just one year, sending Jordan, and Gordon to the pro bowl. But if we can't get him I'd love to see us target Kubiak but then I remember the ravens' tendency to target horrible coordinators...look for Childress or Hostler to be the next coordinator

He was the colts OC for some time. I think he is good. If it were all Peyton why keep him around at all. The even promoted him to head coach. Weird for a guy that sucks. He ain't the one throwing the ball. Oh but I forgot Joe Flacco can do no wrong in Baltimore.

They won't go hard and bring in mike shanahan.

Well, actually he wasn't an OC with Indy ... he was a QB coach. The first play he ever called as OC was with us last year. Still, I agree that people need to chill on the venom for Caldwell. While I do think his departure presents an opportunity to bring in a fresh perspective and I am happy about that, Jim is forever a member of the Ravens Super Bowl Championship family. Good luck to him.
