SUPER BOWL XLVIII

MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, NJ
Broncos (-2 ½) v. Seahawks
Over/Under @ 48

Today it comes to an end. Before the clock strikes 10:30PM, the Ravens reign as Super Bowl Champions will officially end.

We’ve heard it for two weeks how rare it is for Peyton Manning and his No. 1 Offense from the No. 1 seeded Broncos to take on the Legion of Boom and the No. 1 defense of the NFC’s No. 1 seeded Seahawks.

That’s where most of the attention has been focused.

But the difference in this game could be decided by the Broncos ability or inability to control Marshawn Lynch. Expect Jack Del Rio to invest the resources to stop Lynch and leave his defensive backs in man coverage against an unimpressive posse of receivers.

The wildcard for the Seahawks offense is Percy Harvin. If the NFL’s china doll can get through four quarters and make a few plays he could make a big difference for Lynch. Del Rio would then be unable to jam 8 defenders in the box and Beast Mode could go off.

If the weather forecast was more threatening, the Broncos would be at a disadvantage. But unfortunately for the Seahawks that’s not the case. A good day for Seattle would be to hold Manning & Co. to 24-27 points. Even if successful you have to wonder if the Seahawks can generate an equal amount of offense.

To force the issue Seattle will need to hit Manning and take some chances. But that’s a dangerous proposition with so many weapons at Manning’s disposal. When the Seahawks come after the league’s MVP, safety valve Knowshon Moreno could have a big game both running and receiving.

A healthy Harvin and Sidney Rice would make a difference, but that’s not the case here. The Hawks just don’t have the firepower to keep up even though the defense will give a valiant effort.

PREDICTION: Broncos 27, Seahawks 23

DAMMMMMMM that's gotta suck! This is what happens when you spend the entire offseason trying to embarrass the Ravens! Payton Manning is the greatest regular season quarterback of all time and that's about it...Greatness Just got DOMINATED...Sorry Payton - you're not the greatest of all time and that pains me to say because I was hoping you would be... Now hate on Flacco is u want but the dude doesn't choke in crunch time. So take him for what he is...

Just like the 2000 Ravens the Seattle Seahawks will prove that Defense can win championships. Seahawks 28 vs Broncos 14 with at least a pick six made by the seahawks defense, possibly made by Richard Sherman

Sorry, I don't buy what you are selling. I think Denver's D is okay at best. They will not be able to control Lynch, and Seattle secondary is as good as it gets. If the Chargers with almost no ground game could keep it close, what do you think Seattle is going to do. San Francisco couldn't stop Lynch, and Denver will? Sure. Seattle will win that game!

Denver's potent passing attack led by the incomparable Peyton Manning will prove too much for the Seahawks' vaunted defense. Jack Del Rio's defense will stop the run, forcing Russell Wilson to beat them, but he's not good enough at this point. Denver 27 Seattle 10.........
