After their secondary depth took a hit yesterday, when cornerback Aaron Ross tore his Achilles tendon taking the conditioning test, the Ravens have added another former New York Giant free agent.

Per several sources, including Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun, the team has added safety Will Hill.

Hill, who went undrafted in 2011 out of the University of Florida, is currently serving a six-game suspension for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. In the past, he’s also been suspended for violating the PED policy, and another instance of violating the substance abuse policy.

Hill has played in 24 games in his career, with 115 tackles, four forced fumbles, and two interceptions.

From a football stand point this guy will be the Ravens best safety even better then Elam me thinks, but boy we'll see where this leads to. From a football stand point I like the signing alot but it does not help us for the first 6 weeks and as others mentioned we really could use another corner. I commented on Brian's piece yesterday that it would be interesting to see if the Ravens really meant what they said that if a need would come up that they told Drayton Florence that they would sign him but they did not. Just curious.

Put his locker next to Rice.

My thoughts were that management must see something or a need that we don't. All we can really do is trust them. Ozzie had done something very difficult. He's been apart two winning Superbowls in Baltimore.

Strange signing? With ASA only another violation away from being cut, we sign another guy who will be out for the fist 6 games for substance violations? Where is that "good people" mantra? Besides teh team has a number of safeties, they need Cornerback help.
