Ed Block hosts annual mini golf event
Saturday was a day of positives in the community as the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation held their annual mini-golf charity event in Perry Hall, Maryland.
Each year, the Ed Block Foundation whose mission is dedicated to improving the lives of abused, neglected and at-risk children and ending the cycle of abuse, host a day of fun in the sun, in hopes of raising funds to support their cause.
While their purpose is to raise awareness and prevention of child abuse, it’s also coupled with the Foundation’s commitment to celebrating players of inspiration in the NFL.
During the festivities on Saturday, several local area media/sports talents were paired with a team of four golfers for a comical round of miniature golf that more often than not results in “Stick to you day jobs” from the participants.
“Being able to come out here and laugh and joke around with several of the people we read or watch on television everyday is pretty cool,” remarked Dave Addison who’s foursome consisted of him and his family.
“This event is outstanding and all for a wonderful cause.” Addison went on to add.
Each Fall, one player is selected from each NFL football franchise who exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. The award is unique in that the recipients are selected solely by a vote of their teammates.
