CARRY THAT WEIGHT

Prior to this season Justin Forsett’s heaviest seasonal workload was back in 2010 when he carried the ball 118 times for the Seattle Seahawks. This season, the 29-year-old diminutive back has carried it 208 times and is on pace to double his previous seasonal career-high. Count me among those who are concerned that Forsett will slow down during the most important time of the season. That said, Forsett isn’t concerned. LINK

SAFETY IN NUMBERS?

The Ravens have struggled to find the right combination of safeties to play this season. Matt Elam has been a mess and is deserving of the “bust” discussions that are nearly knee-jerk reactions when his name is mentioned amongst Ravens fans. Rookie Terrence Brooks didn’t play well either prior to his injury and probably cost the team a win in Cincinnati back in October. Ravens defensive coordinator Dean Pees accepts some of the blame when it comes to Brooks. STORY HERE…

JOHNNY FOOTBALL POSER

It would be a massive understatement to say that Johnny Manziel is a lightning rod for the media. But really, he may be the most trumped up, overrated athlete ever! I’ve gone on record saying that Manziel never has been and never will be as good as Doug Flutie who was an 11th round pick by the Los Angeles Rams in 1985. ELEVENTH ROUND!

Apparently Brian Billick agrees and likened Manziel on Twitter to the Ravens 2007 5th round pick Troy Smith. A Browns/Manziel fan took exception to this claim. Billick’s rebuttal to said fan is a CLASSIC!

SAYING GOODBYE TO A FEW RAVENS?

This coming offseason will be a challenging one for Ozzie Newsome & Co. and given some of the salary cap issues that the team will be forced to tackle, this could be the final season in Baltimore for a couple of fan favorites. Here’s a look…

HERE WE GO AGAIN

The 2014 season has a familiar vibe to it and it doesn’t take a lot of imagination to harken back to the homestretch of the 2012 season – one that ended with the franchise’s second Lombardi. But just in case you aren’t seeing the correlation CHECK THIS OUT…

LAND OF CONFUSION

Do all of the playoff scenarios make your head explode – figuratively of course? Well Ken McKusick did all of us simple minds a favor and summarizes the playoff picture HERE.

HIT THE SACK

The Ravens have tallied 14 sacks in the last two games, eight of them coming against the Jacksonville Jaguars. What are they doing that is so special and so frightening to opposing quarterbacks? Here’s a CLOSE LOOK.
