Flacco has more playoff wins than 10 teams. Defense hasn’t always won championships. The Broncos are benefiting from a thing called recency bias. What it looks like when a 120×53 1/3 field gets removed. The Ravens may not be landing a top defensive prospect. Oher slides on Levi Stadium turf, just like Tucker.

Joe Flacco’s 10 playoff wins put 10 other teams to shame

Wola Odeniran of Baltimore Beatdown points out an interesting statistic: there are 10 NFL teams, 7 of which have been around since at least the merger, that have fewer wins than Joe Flacco. Wola knows that many of you may be wondering why he is bringing up that statistic when the Ravens are coming off of a 5-11 season. He says it’s because he thinks it’s funny. I do, too, Wola.

Latest trend of defense winning championships started with Ravens

Since the turn of the century, the mantra among NFL fans has been, “Defense wins championships.” That wasn’t always the prominent opinion. In the 90’s, all of the Super Bowl champions held an offense that was in the top 3 in scoring in the league, according to Jamison Hensley of ESPN. But right after the Greatest Show on Turf came the 2000 Ravens and an era in which defenses were the reason teams won championships.

Schmuck: Broncos defense doesn’t measure up to ’85 Bears or 2000 Ravens

Peter Schmuck of The Baltimore Sun says the Broncos’ defense this season doesn’t measure up to the defenses of the 2000 Ravens or the ’85 Bears. We pointed that out this week, but Schmuck makes the point that the Broncos’ defense wasn’t even the best in the AFC for much of the season.

Time Lapse of Stadium Turf Removal

Next year, the Ravens will be going to a real grass field. They came to this decision by polling the players, and most said that they prefer real grass to artificial turf. Which meant that the Ravens had to remove the grassy turf field at M&T Bank Stadium, and this is a cool video of that process, narrated by Garrett Downing.

Late For Work 2/11: Ravens Will Need To Trade Up For Top Defensive Talent

Mel Kiper told Glenn Clark on his radio show that it’s very unlikely that Joey Bosa will be available for the Ravens’ with the 6th pick, per Sarah Ellison of Ravens media. He also stated that he thinks Jalen Ramsey will go to Jacksonville with the 5th pick. Considering this, Kiper thinks the Ravens will go with one of the two tackles, and he thinks the more likely choice will be Ronnie Stanley out of Notre Dame. That would be pretty disappointing for a large number of Ravens fans, but it might be the right call.
