**UPDATE**: The arrest was for a suspended license, reports TMZ. Suggs was involved in a minor one-car accident. No one was injured, but someone heard it and called the cops. They came to the Mexican restaurant to investigate the incident. The suspension was due to speeding tickets. He says he plans to make it right.

This was his response on Instagram:

MooD:……. Driving with a suspended license! Street Cred= 100,000 Trillion. My bad Y'all.. Dumb Ass SiZ

According to a TMZ report, Ravens LB Terrell Suggs was arrested in Arizona yesterday. The report says that Suggs was at a bar when the alleged incident happened.

Suggs has a history of issues with the law. In 2009, he was involved a domestic incident his fiancee. During that incident, he allegedly knocked his fiancee down and poured a bottle of bleach on her.

In 2012, he faced another complaint, from the same woman, Candace Williams, his wife by this time.

He was never punished by the NFL for either incident.

The Ravens have publicly stated, “Terrell made us aware of the situation, and we’re looking into it.”

Since it was just a suspended license, this will likely have no effect on his future with the team. Still, some fans have called for his release due to his high Cap number and the current youth movement. However, the extension that he signed last season complicates the Salary Cap implications. An outright release (pre-June 1) would cost the Ravens $1.4M more against the Cap and create $8.85M in Dead Money.

NOTE: An earlier edition of this post said that many fans would be calling for his release. That was before we received word of the charges. Any remaining speculation in this article about his release is unrelated to the arrest and has more to do with the Ravens’ current youth movement.

About Tyler Lombardi

Tyler has followed Baltimore sports his entire life. His favorite player growing up was Steve McNair, so he was ecstatic when he became a Raven in 2006. When he's in front of the TV watching the game, it's best to avoid non-football discussion. It's quite likely he isn't listening anyway, as his girlfriend can attest to. More from Tyler Lombardi
