A Little Help For Our Friends

Death is a robber.

Its thieving ways know no boundaries. It has no borders.

And at some point it comes knocking on each of our doors in some way, shape or form.

Death humbles us. It makes us reassess what is important in each of our lives – to reset priorities. Friends and family gather to pay respects. Memories are shared. We try to focus on what was and not fret what will never be again. We vow to get together more often.

Unfortunately, too often, the lessons the robber provides are only fleeting until the next time we hear the knock. We don’t mean to, but eventually we take things for granted. We carry on and quickly fall back into the comfort zones from which we were temporarily awakened.

Life goes on.

In February our community suffered a tremendous loss – the lives of Harford County Deputies Patrick Dailey and Mark Logsdon. These men dedicated their lives to protect and serve us. Their families made commitments to preserving our freedoms and keeping us out of harms way.

The outpouring of support from officers everywhere was incredibly comforting. It was a statement of the brotherhood they all share and it was an example of how a community can come together as one when called upon.

Honoring Deputies Dailey And LogsdonThis Sunday, March 20th at 510 Johnny’s in Bel Air, Bob Copper and Ed Pabst along with several outstanding local bands, are donating their time and talents to help raise money for the surviving families while honoring Deputies Dailey and Logsdon. This is yet another way to remember them and show appreciation to men who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. A duty to protect and serve.

It promises to be a fun-filled day and evening during which we proudly give back. One hundred percent of the $25 donation for admission will go towards this great cause.

Death has taken enough from us all.

Let’s rally together and help broaden the legacies of Deputies Dailey and Logsdon.

Life does go on.

But so too can their memories and lessons of selflessness.

Please join us and thank you for your time and consideration.
