NFL betting fans that are fond of the Baltimore Ravens have plenty to look forward to in 2016. In addition to finally being able to put the 2015 season behind them, Joe Flacco will be returning healthier than ever. While he may not be the most versatile quarterback in the league Flacco is still more than capable of extending the play with his legs.
Suffering both an ACL and an MCL tear will sometimes put a damper on an athlete’s ability to move around, but it seems Flacco’s recovery is laying all those questions to rest. Ravens fans can expect to see the Super Bowl winning quarterback moving around with ease, both inside and outside the pocket – something that is crucial for any team in the same division as the Pittsburgh Steelers. With their star quarterback returning, plenty of good offseason acquisitions, and some stellar practices NFL betting enthusiasts can expect the Ravens to be playoff contenders once more.
There isn’t enough that can be said about Flacco’s recovery. The ACL and MCL are two of the most important ligaments for an athlete, and there have been numerous NFL stars that have been unable to return to their level of play following this type of injury. What’s impressive is that Flacco is already at 100%. Sure he may be practicing with a knee brace but his movements don’t seem at all constrained.
For comparison, Jordy Nelson – the Green Bay Packers star receiver – suffered a similar season ending injury last year. Upon the beginning of training camp Nelson was still listed on the PUP list (Physically Unable to Perform) more than 11 months after tearing his ACL. Flacco on the other hand has been taking all the reps with the first-team. This shows the faith the Ravens have in Flacco’s recovery, a faith that Baltimore fans should share.
While there were high hopes for this team riding into the 2015 season (Sports Illustrated’s Peter King even picked them to reach the Super Bowl) those expectations were met with disappointment. The biggest reason to this was the season ending injuries suffered by Flacco, Justin Forsett, Steve Smith Sr., and even Terrell Suggs. Losing so many key players on both sides of the ball will indubitably impact your team’s performance.
In fact if it wasn’t for being in the same division as the Cleveland Browns the Ravens would’ve indubitably finished last in the AFC North. To ensure injuries don’t plague this team in the upcoming season Baltimore’s management made sure to add depth to this roster in the offseason. Baltimore’s offseason acquisitions include Benjamin Watson, Mike Wallace, and Eric Weddle.
Although a 5 – 11 record isn’t too impressive, it doesn’t accurately summarize last year’s Baltimore Ravens. Fourteen of last year’s games were determined by 8 points or less. It’s not like the Ravens got trampled, no, teams took advantage of an injury-ridden team. And even then Baltimore was still in a position to win those games.
Had the Ravens been at 100% there’s no doubt in the minds of NFL betting fans that they would have walked away victorious in several of those matchups. Now that the roster is healthy many see the Ravens as lock-ins for 2016 postseason play.
Now Ravens fans just have to find the best betting website to make a quick buck on their team’s success.
