The Baltimore Ravens have agreed in principle to a three-year contract with DB/LB Anthony Levine Sr., general manager/executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced Friday.

Entering his sixth NFL season, Levine Sr. has emerged into one of the league’s top special teams contributors and become a versatile defender with the ability to play cornerback, safety and linebacker. The 5-11, 200-pounder has seen action in 66 career games (all with the Ravens), producing 28 special teams tackles, 31 tackles from scrimmage and four passes defensed.

Levine Sr. originally joined Baltimore’s practice squad during the 2012 campaign. He has played in 64-consecutive games, producing the Ravens’ third-longest active streak (P Sam Koch – 176 and K Justin Tucker – 80).

In The Dallas Morning News’ annual special teams report compiled by senior NFL writer Rick Gosselin, Baltimore has ranked in the NFL’s Top 5 for five-straight seasons. (Gosselin’s report is recognized by NFL teams as a special teams measuring stick.) Thanks in part to the play and leadership of Levine Sr., no other NFL team has been in the Top 5 in each of the past five seasons.
