The Baltimore Ravens have acquired C A.Q. Shipley, pending passing a physical, from the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for a conditional 2014 draft pick, general manager and executive vice president Ozzie Newsome announced Thursday morning. Shipley, a 6-1, 309-pounder, enters his second NFL season having seen action in 14 games (five starts) with the Colts in 2012. Steve Spagnuolo, former head coach of the St. Louis Rams (2009-11), has joined the Baltimore Ravens coaching staff, it was announced today by head coach John Harbaugh. Spagnuolo’s full-time position with the team is senior defensive assistant. “Steve had a number of opportunities in the league right now, and we’re excited he picked the Ravens,” Harbaugh said. “He comes to a staff that we believe is very strong, and he makes us even better. Ravens Earth Day 2013

The Baltimore Ravens are teaming up with Constellation to tackle an Earth Day event through their Sacks for Seeds campaign that ran during the 2012 football season. In line with the Ravens’ efforts to promote green initiatives, Constellation has donated 37 trees for the 37 sacks the Ravens’ defense recorded during their Super Bowl Championship season. The University of Maryland and West Virginia University football teams will continue their interstate rivalry for the fourth-straight season in a contest held at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 21.
