Brendon Ayanbadejo apologizes for Twitter comments

During Sunday evening’s Patriots-Texans AFC Divisional playoff game – which was won by New England to set up a Ravens/Pats rematch in the AFC Champsionship game – Baltimore linebacker Brendon Ayanbadejo took to his twitter account to give some commentary on the game.
“B.A.” was critical of the Patriots’ “hurry up” offense, which often snaps the ball before the defense is lined up and ready for it, calling it a “gimmick.” Tom Brady & Co. were doing this with great success against Houston, and Ayanbadejo was clearly not a fan of the tactics.
He also gave New England a measure of credit, saying “their offense is good enough to be successful with out that.”
However, he also used the term “bitchassness” to sum up his feelings on the strategy.
This morning, Ayanbadejo’s tweets are getting some attention from national media outlets [1], and are likely going up as “bulletin board material” in the Patriots locker room.
Ayanbadejo issued the following apology on twitter [2] just a few moments ago:
It seems likely that Brendon got pulled into John Harbaugh’s office this morning for all the wrong reasons, but there is no way to be sure (at least, until the media asks one or both of them about it later today).
I’m glad B.A. apologized, but I was definitely shocked last night when I was watching his tweets come out. The last thing Tom Brady needs is any added motivation.
Here’s the series of tweets that sparked the apology:
