The Ravens will head to New Orleans for an opportunity to win their second Lombardi trophy in franchise history.

ESPN and local advertisers in Denver and New England have tried to throw Ray Lewis a retirement party; however, Lewis didn’t get the invitation. He’s ending his career on his terms, and on the biggest stage of his life.

Could it get any better than this?

John Harbaugh has always been upstaged by his little brother Jim. John wasn’t as athletic, he wasn’t a first-round draft pick, he wasn’t as succesful as a collegiate coach, he wasn’t a hot head coaching candidate and he wasn’t named the AP NFL Coach of the Year. Now, the brothers will coach against each other in the Super Bowl and give John a chance to beat Jim when it matters most.

Joe Flacco is treated as if he’s the worst quarterback to ever play in the NFL. He’s always doubted, ridiculed and even has been questioned by a large chunk of his own fan base. Now, he’s the winningest road playoff quarterback in NFL history. He’s going to get a nine-figure contract during the offseason and the chance to put a Super Bowl ring on his finger and silence his critics once and for all. Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley said Flacco would never reach a Super Bowl “in this lifetime.” Woodley may be mad but he’s alive, well and wrong.

The offense is finally playing at the consistent level under Jim Caldwell that everyone knew it could. Cam Cameron was blamed for holding the offense back and clearly deserved that criticism. Caldwell has made Flacco comfortable with a mobile pocket and old but new offensive line. Flacco has passed for 853 yards, eight touchdowns and ZERO inteceptions throughout the playoffs.

Pittsburgh Steeler fans are miserable. Either they’ll see the Ravens hoist the Lombardi trophy or their prestigious SIX Super Bowl championships be tied by the San Francisco 49ers. It’s already sounded stupid when they just yelled “SIX” at everyone but if SF wins it will be really stupid – and irrelevant.

Could it get any better than this?

John Harbaugh has often said, “would you rather be anywhere but here right now?” to his players and even privately to myself and a few members of the media during training camp. While we’re certain Harbaugh wouldn’t want to be anywhere but in the Super Bowl, we have to ask…

Could it get any better than this?

I can think of just one way that it can get better.
