How embarrasing is this woman? First she can't answer a question about really anything during an interview then she tries to incite the other less than educated conservatives by telling them that Obama is a terrorist but to top it all off now, she is found to be illegally abusing her power as governor.

Her son was addicted to oxycontin and her daughter pregnant by age 16. And this is the woman that people feel is just like them???

I have said since the beginning that his trailor trash would bring Mccain down. What a joke for Americans...to think that world watched 8 years of Bush and then to see this wacknut run for VP. No wonder countries are asking other countries for help now and not the U.S.

I hate to break it to you, but in "The Real World", stuff like this is pretty common place.

Pre-marital sex at a young age, drinking under age, experimenting with drugs, etc., etc., etc. is the real America IMO.

Maybe you live in the land of Ward Clever, and you grew up as the Beaver, but in the world that I'm use to seeing her personal life appears to be more like what everyday Americans deal with.

So yeah, I could see how people would say she's just like them.

you have a pretty sad view on what it is to be an american family if you truly believe everyday american families have an oxy addict, a pregnant 16 year old and a parent who abuses the power of her job to help her sister get out of a dysfunctional marriage all in the same household. I don't think so. Or if you really do think that then you have fairly well confirmed everything I have been saying on these threads about the republican base.

I got a family member that's an alcoholic, another that's a heroin addict and another that died from a heroin OD.

Like I said, this is real world stuff that runs more rampant then I think you want to believe, or are to naive to believe.

It has nothing to do with my personal outlook on what I think the American family should be, nor does it have anything to do with whether you're a Democrat or Republican.

That stuff knows nothing about political partys!

I fully understand what people are saying when they say that Palin and her family issues reminds them of themselves and the issues they deal with.

That doesn't mean I think Palin is qualified to hold a very high position in our government though.

Unfortunately, not all kids are Chelsea Clinton or Beaver Clever.

I understand the problems. I work almost exclusively with teens and families with problems. I have 1/2 a dozen kids in my practice on suboxone because of their opiate problems. I have also have had plenty of pregnant teens. the fact that Palin has so many problems in her family is pretty clear to me that she is not available to her kids.

Chelsea Clinton turned out as she did because somehow her parents were available to her. I would want my president or vice-president to at least be in charge of his or her family before they are in charge of a country. Palin is not in charge of her family.

She was cleared? I just read on Saturday that she was found to have abused her power in the case of the firing of her (ex) bro-in-law, more specifcally her role in said case. I don't think that constitutes clearing, at all. And just to watch her, and to add the points Glen has made.... it seems more and more that she is the purest form of White, trailer trash... Don't get me wrong, I know quite a few, and have been called that myself, by people that fit the description much more aptly than I.... AND I find the term offensive. But..... if it walks like a duck..........and quacks like a duck......

No, the report I read simply said "Palin broke law in her handling ...." That sounds completely different than the report you must have read. It was an AP report in our local paper(hagerstown)... Silly me, I took it at face value.
