First off, my son has lots of Ravens gear. Then he gets a Denver Portis Jersey. Then a, gulp, Foreskins Portis jersey. Then he got a Squealers shirt, it was given to him though. Tonight, he comes home with a McNabb jersey. Now, he has been given many lectures about how this is a Ravens house, but he always replies that he loves all of football.

Now, the $64,000 question.

Is it wrong to kick a 7 year old out of the house?

Not in this scenario. What he is doing is much worse.

Just explain to him that there will be no Christmas until he gets rid of all of that crap from the other NFL teams. That'll get his attention.

Today was the first day of school in my 5th grade classroom. I have 4 Ravens posters (the ones from the Sun a couple years back) of Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, Jon Ogden and Todd Heap hanging in different parts of my room. One of my students actually had the stones to ask me if I'd put up a Steelers poster. I almost kicked him out of class! :p

Yes, you should kick him out of the house!

If he asks for a T.O. jersey, or a Polamalu Jersey, just get him the equivalent jerseys of Ravens players, that being Mason and Reed respectively.

Luker, I think you would have every right to beat the kids ass, and lock him in the closet.

Paint your entire house purple and have a Ravens game running all day via VCR. I think that is one way to brainwash someone.

Who's buying them for him?

That's a very pertinent question Brandon! If he's stealing them on the way home from elementary school, tell him he'd better only be stealing Ravens stuff from now on. If someone else is buying them for him, take a 2 x 4 to them.

He's at his most impressionable age right now - and along with steering him away from satanism, drugs and career aspirations of being a hairdresser, preventing him giving his allegiances to anyone other than the Ravens should be top of your list.

The person who bought the kid a Squeeler shirt needs to be 'talked' to. There are some things you just don't do to a kid.

I did, but their native Yinzers.

This is one of my worst nightmares: having a son and having him turn into a Steeler or Deadskin fan. Kind of shitty for someone to give him a Steelers shirt knowing you're a Ravens fan and are trying to raise him a Ravens fan too.

No kids of my own, but I reinforce the Ravens into my nephews and younger cousins whenever I can! My brother grew up a (gulp!) Rams fan in the 80s and thus has no true allegiance to any team or anyone, which makes it hard for me to enlist his help to breed Purple Passion throughout my family...

Scare your kid by telling him that if he roots for the Steelers he'll grow up to resemble Terry Bradshaw...If the shock of that thought doesn't kill him, it will only make him stronger...

DrUnk -- have you taken him to Training Camp? How about to a game? Have you been to one of the weeknight Ravens shows around town or a player appearance?

I think if you get him to meet and see the players up front and personal, this will help build interest in his Dad's team. This worked for my nephew when I took him to camp many years ago and he was able to get Priest Holmes' autograph.

LOL!, Look at your wife, dead straight in the eyes, and tell her, it's from her side of the family!:insane:

Keep thinking " unconditional love" over and over..., remember it could be...

As for the native Yinzers, its time to move to the land of pleasant living, "Carroll County", just not southern Carroll.

Only if you fail to get everything you can out of the matter, to wit:

1 stick lipstick - $3.95

1 pair leather hot pants, Boys' size 6 - $57.95

1 pair handcuffs - $12.99

1 ball gag - size small - $11.99

1 one-way ticket to Bangkok - $1,274.28

Seeing to it that a Baltimore-raised Steelers fan gets what's coming to him :179421: - priceless.

BS (with apologies to Mancow Muller)

Man, it's the same as letting a drug dealer or any other type of questionable person around your kid ( priest?!?). Drunk, be a parent and kick his ass. For that matter, maybe the child needs a little ass kickin'. If he tells you that he'll call 911, tell him what I told my 3 boys, " you'll be in a shallow grave by the time the police show up!!":D

I can't believe you are actually asking this on a Ravens forum. Are you a Raven fan or a eunuch? If my kids came home with this stuff I would keep it quieter than a CIA cover up.

However if this did happen to me (which it wouldn't) I would go about taking care of this in this order:

Me: son, you are a ravens fan right?
Boy: Yes dad, of course.

Me: Well then, lets build a bon fire tonight with all of that non-Ravens stuff. Fire is cool!

Scenario 1)
 Boy: that would be great dad
Me: here’s the match lets have at it.

End of problem!

Scenario 2)
:insane: Boy: no dad I would rather keep the stuff, mommy said I could.

Me: Ok son, I'll buy you anything you want if you give me that trash!

Scenario 3)
Boy: Great dad I really want the new playstation and Madden 2007.
Me: Very cool, get in the car we're headed to Target. Now give me that trash, we're having a bon- fire tonight! :patriot:

Scenario 4)
Boy: Dad I am keeping the stuff, I really like it.
Me: Sure son you can keep it. By the way, I thought I saw the boogie man hanging outside your room last night.

Later that night.
Me: sneaks into room dressed as boogie man and steals all of the traitorous stuff.
Bonfire out back at midnight.

He's been to some games. He roots for the Ravens. He just really loves football, period. Matter of fact, I'm thinking of sending him away, 'cause he plays imaginary games all day long. I think he might need a check up from the neck up. At least it's not Pokemon anymore.

My oldest went to college out in Western Maryland. One time she came home wearing a Steelers shirt (don't ask me why . . . . she was obviously hanging with the wrong crowd out there) and we refused to allow her to step foot in the house with it on. We wouldn't even allow it in the house . . . made her put it in her car. She never tried that again :rolling:

This is a true story :rolling:

P.S. Since then she has come to her senses and only wears Ravens stuff.

College can do strange things to your brain :bag:

I'm so strict about it, I have refused to allow someone into my car who was wearing a Panthers hat. NO ONE comes into my home wearing another team's gear.

I just found out my next door neighbor is a Steeler fan. The mailman accidentally delivered a Steelers Apparel Catalog, addressed to her, to my house. It's like finding out you're living next to a serial killer. I tore up the catalog and tossed it in the trash.

Is that wrong?

 Knowing the both of you, I can't honestly believe one of your offspring would try and pull that shit. The image of her showing up at the house in that jersey and the expression on both your faces is very amusing to me, I have to say.

What's wrong is that you didn't light it on fire, toss it thru your neighbors front window, and nail the door shut!! (Just remember to keep your garden hose handy, you know how that pissburgh stuff spreads.);)

Send him out to Denver and I'll take care of him. My 7 year old wouldn't be caught dead in anything other than Ravens gear, and he's a native Coloradan. I thought the loss last year to the Broncos would have been an issue, but he is unwavering.

This is one of my worst nightmares: having a son and having him turn into a Steeler or Deadskin fan.

That never happened with any of my four kids. However, 2 of my girls did have flirtations with mixed marriages involving prospective fiances who grew up in Heathen Redskins households. The older daughter's fiance quickly became a Ravens loyalist after Danny Snyder took over in Raljon; since 1998, he has attended most Ravens home games, many away games, and he made the front page of the Sun during Super Bowl week as an example of a former Redskins fan who saw the light. My 2nd youngest daughter's fiance is not heavy into football, attends a few Ravens games (or at least the tailgate parties), and is a work in process. In any event, the prospective in-laws get free club seat passes to both stadiums (including tomorow night's game), so I can overlook a few mental defects in return for free club admission! :grbac:

I established a family policy awhile back about a loyalty test, with the ultimate remedy being booted from the will, for bringing Redskins vermin into the extended family to besmirch our good name as Ravens diehards.

Totally and completely justified. You think that's bad, almost all the girls on my flag football team are Steeler fans and some of the guys are too. I had no idea until the weather turned and they all started showing up with Steeler hoodies/hats/jackets. I refuse to talk pro football with them because I don't want the situation to escalate into trash talking.
