Has it got this bad with Oakland? The guy hasn't played in 5 years.

News like this just makes me happy. I mean how could Jeff George, who was drafted in like 1990 and hasn't played football for 5 years, not be worth a few laughs over the course of the season. If he ever starts I'm dropping what I'm doing and watching.
Oakland is a mess.

Jeff George?
The Raiders are a joke. George has been a jerk his whole career, and he hasn't thrown a pass in years. Only the Raiders would make a move like this.

Looks like Oakland thinks like Dallas does. Jeff George has been a pain in the ass to any team he has played for. I think Jeff George is a card carrying member of the TO club.

Something just doesn't make sense about this. It's not like George left the game on top.

This is all Al Davis's love affair of the deep ball passing game.
Al can probably only remember him from.

Bingo! Al Davis is the reason the Raiders are a joke. Nobody really wanted that head coaching job -- Al Saunders took a coordinator's job with the Redskins rather than the HC gig at Oakland. He just didn't want that job, so it goes to Art Shell, who hasn't been a HC since Davis fired him many years ago, their OC hasn't coached in years either, and now they sign a QB who hasn't thrown a pass in the NFL since about 2001. This team has the potential to be a major fiasco this year.
Al Davis has definitely lost his fastball.

I appreciate Al Davis very much, but it's moves like this one that make you shake your head.
The league is a better one when the Raiders are good. It's sad to see this once proud franchise making moves like this.
Besides, I would have signed Jim Plunkett.

Al Davis is a supreme ...lots of bad words. He sues the NFL all the time and he's got this big infatuation with trying to have the Colts or Bengals offense.
Then on top of all that, he's just like Angelos. Can't keep his hands off the team for 5 seconds to let a GM or coach actually do their job correctly. I hope you're reading this Al, I really do. :hammer:

Couldn't happen to a more deserving team or a worse owner. I hate Al Davis and the Raiders with a passion! Davis has made it his life's ambition to destroy the NFL in a snit because he wasn't named commish when the leagues merged. I hope they don't win a game all season.

Strange QB shakeups all over the league...
The Eagles released Koy Detmer in favor of A.J. Feeley. Feeley has been downright dissapointing and Koy Detmer just seemed like the only Detmer worthy to stick on an NFL roster.
Plus, we could see the Titans beginning the season with just one of last season's QBs...Matt Mauck! (McNair to the Ravens, Volek pissed that the team brough Collins in).

Does Volek have any leverage in this situation? He's under contract isn't he? I mean I'm sure down deep Boller is pissed with his situation also but there isn't anything he can do about it. He's still here and still has to do whatever he's told to do I would assume the same holds true for Volek. :229031_confused2:

He doesn't have enough leverage to force a trade, but he can probably be one hell of a nuisance if he wants to be. Plus, I'm sure there's going to be at least one team out there that will look to pounce on this situation (If Collins starts, and Vince Young is the future...Volek is basically obsolete) and make the Titans a good offer to grab Volek away.
