This should be an interesting exhibition game. Anyone who wants to tailgate and possibly latch onto free club seat passes, PM me.

I hope we have better representation than we did a few weeks ago at the scrimmage!:taz:

It's preseason, I passed on free tickets weeks ago. I wouldn't expect a large contingent.

my future mother-in-law has Redskins season tix and she's letting me come along for free. Probably won't be tailgating though, but thanks for the offer, and I will definitley be wearing my ravens jersey and any other raven merchandise I can find.

I won't back down in Snyder town!

I wouldn't go to Danny's Dump for anything less than a regular season game.

Anyone going be sure to keep an eye on Ernesto. You may need your Ravens poncho before the game is over.

My friend is a Ravens fan and his boss gave him 2 club seats with parking so we are going to take them. I'm not paying anything so I don't care.

Please see my post over at the "other" board if anyone wants to hook up for some pre-game tailgating. Hope to see you there.

Me either. I can't stand Snyder

I have tickets but I may not go considering the weather report for tomorrow.

Not going to sit in the wind and rain to watch Drew Olson and Jason Campbell duke it out, and gas prices + parking cost too much for me to go to see McNair's one drive and leave. If it was in B-More I'd go, but I dislike FedEx enough as it is.

Isn't "Danny's Dump" an exaggeration? True that it was a shithole when it opened in 1997, but Little Danny has poured multi-millions into upgrades. (Significantly more than Bisciotti's stadium investment of zero).

OK ..... It doesn't have the urban setting, the huge video screens or the purple seats; however, it does have several attractive features that we don't: escalators to the upper deck, see through plastic guardrails, and a huge club lounge with better video equipment. Their stadium access by car can actually be better than ours if you know your way around, while our Light Rail access beats their Metro access.

I like to beat up on Redskins fans just like the next guy, but the knock on their stadium is a little too much. I would sooner go to a game at FedEx than, say, Byrd Stadium, or the Heinz erector set at the confluence of the Three Rivers.

Danny turned that stadium into an oversized circus tent. Or at least that's the way it looks with those tacky FedEx colors all around the stadium. And everyone who goes there blasts it for the corporate and bland atmosphere. What do I care what their club level looks like? Not like I could afford club level seating at any NFL game.

Bisciotti doesn't need to sink millions into upgrades because, as they say, if it ain't broke - don't fix it. Besides, can Bisciotti even do anything to the stadium? I thought it was technically owned by the Maryland Stadium Authority with the Ravens leasing.

Honestly, no disrespect at all to you T but I could care less what the club level looks like. I've seen the inside of the M&T club level at the draft day party in 05 and it looked nice enough, but I simply wouldn't go to a football game to sit inside and watch it on TV.

Mista T - quit your jibber jabber. Steve added the additional seating areas in the open areas in the upper levels (not sure if that's really considered an improvement) and has also improved the bathroom situation in the upper decks from what I have heard. I'm sure there are more, anyone else got upgrade info?

Mista T

as they say, if it ain't broke - don't fix it.

Just to carry on a debate that transcends 1/2 dozen message boards: if it "ain't broke", then why do we have to hike up 1/4 mile or so of ramps while fans in just about every other stadium in the NFL - includes real dumps like Joe Robbie and Alltell - get to ride escalators?:179421:

:mrt:

btw: I do agree re the circus tent look from the outside, but I care more about fan comforts inside the stadium.

Happily, I will be going. A friend of mine, a regional manager of Mitsubishi, gave me two tickets. We should make this a "home" game. For once, it would be nice to see BALTIMORE FANS take over a stadium in the way the Yankees, Redsox, and Steelers try to take over ours stadiums.

Escalators are nice, but frankly I enjoy the workout from running up the steps (not the ramps). I'm dying when I get to the top, but I feel great afterwards!

Of course, not everyone is a big strappin' dude with a chiseled physique and the stamina needed to get up those stairs!

Then there us others who have had so many arthroscopic knee scrapings that we face knee replacements if we hike up those damned ramps again.:hammer:

You can ride the elevators, I know it sucks. We won't be getting escalators because there is no way to put them in. I walk the stairs and am in good enough shape to handle it.

Wow - some punctuation would be nice. Anyhow, I'll be there with Mista T. Tailgate party passes doesn't sound too bad, especially with the expected rain. Is the tailgate party under a tent or something?

Mista T

Philly: Do you still have my cell phone number? If not -- PM me. Will you guys have shelter from the rain? I'm contemplating going into the stadium early to avoid it, but I'd rather hook up with you & your gang again instead, esp if you have protection.

The best that I'll be able to do is raise the convertible top and stand outside holding an umbrella.:o

The ramps are more likely because it accomodates handicapped access I guess. Though I can't see why they couldn't fit in at least an escalator per side of the stadium or whatever....

I don't mind the walk up the ramps because the exercise is nice. Need some to burn off all the calories from the beer and fattening food from the tailgate. But they do have elevators you could ride. Not sure how long the waits are for them, but they are there. I don't know how feasible it would be to put escalators in at this point.

I don't know how feasible it would be to put escalators in at this point.

If Danny Snyder could retrofit escalators (with his own $$$) to the big circus tent at Landover, I'm sure the MSA could do it in Baltimore. It's only a question of willingness. Maryland has a history of inadequate sports facilities: Memorial Stadium was the last of a dinosaur design (modelled after the Mistake by the Lake), the Baltimore Civic Center was obsolete the day it opened, and Ravens Stadium was the only modern NFL Stadium with no escalators and, until last season, had inadequate restrooms. It would sure be nice to see our stadium brought up to other NFL standards.

As to elevators: yes, I take them them to save my knees. It takes a lot of patience and requires leaving the tailgate parties early to avoid monster lines.

The bathrooms in my section are still inadequate. I need to get a catheter or something.

As for the monster lines. I have seen them and had to endure them once while with an elderly man with medical problems. It amazes me how inconsiderate some of the able bodied young men and women riding the elevator are. Whay aren't they walking? They are just lazy and rude.

When sitting upstairs, I only use them when I need to acompany someone with a disability.

You said it. It's laziness. That's why there's so many fat asses walking around. If you are healthy and young - take the damn stairs/ramp!
