What is a 'Sloppy Joe'?

It's a sandwhich.

Ground beef and grilled onions usually in some sort of ketchup based sauce or BBQ sauce.

It's a loose sauce and it will more than likely drip -- making it sloppy.

The beef is not in a patty but more likely to be stirred in a pot while cookiing allowing it to thicken somewhat. It is still then "spooned" onto a roll.

Why do they put those crappy seeds on top of the buns?

Do you guys know the origin of the expression ' upper crust ' in reference to rich people?

My Homemade Sloppy Joes recipe:
2 lbs ground beef

1 green pepper chopped
2 tsp vinegar.
˝ tsp hot sauce
1 12 oz can of tomato paste
2 tablespoons brown sugar

. Mix onion,
green pepper and ground beef together and sauté. Add vinegar, brown sugar and tomato paste and cook 1 hour or place in crock pot.

Every tailgate this is a must along with my special pasta recipe.
