It didn't take long for T.O. to find a new home.
Terrell Owens has agreed to a one-year, $6.5 million deal with the Buffalo Bills, according to sources.
The Bills called a 6:15 p.m. news conference Saturday to announce the signing. According to a source, the entire contract is guaranteed.
Owens visited the Bills on Saturday. He was released by the Dallas Cowboys late Wednesday.
Owens' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said in a text message Friday that his client wouldn't be out of work for too long. Negotiations had begun with several teams, Rosenhaus said.
"There are several teams that are interested in signing Terrell," Rosenhaus said. "I have been in negotiations with these teams. I will not identify the teams at this time. Terrell and I expect to have a deal in place by the end of next week if not sooner."
The Cowboys paid Owens a $12 million signing bonus last year, which was included as part of a new four-year, $34 million deal. Dallas took a roughly $9 million salary-cap when it released of Owens.
There has been talk since the end of the Cowboys' 9-7 season, in which they missed the playoffs, that they would consider cutting Owens to improve locker-room morale.
Owens finished with more catches (69), receiving yards (1,052) and touchdowns (10) last season than any player on the Bills' roster.
The Bills were in need of a receiver to take the pressure from Lee Evans. They got one of the biggest names out there.
The question now is how T.O. will deal with Trent Edwards, who is only entering his second full year as starter. Owens has made life difficult for quarterbacks in the past and joins an offense that struggled mightily last year.
The Bills were 25th in the NFL in yards gained and failed to have a 300-yard passer.

i thought it would take longer then this... but who would have thought the Bills???

Interesting, but it's a great deal for the Bills. He's a cancer of the worst kind, but he's terrific for a year or two before he starts causing problems.
It's questionable how he'll do with ... Trent ... Edwards ... throwing him the ball. He might blow up after two weeks. But I'm guessing Rosenhaus told him "Take the money and shut the f*ck up for a year, because you'll never play again if you don't."
When the guy's not causing problems he's one of the best ever, and he usually doesn't cause problems for the first year, so kudos for the Bills on making a smart deal.

The guy draws double coverage and gets 10 TDs and 1000 yards. Who cares what he says? The coaches say stuff that would make a tough guy cry in practice all the time. What can he really do but F thiings up for himself, or get 10 TDs if he stays out there.

Wrong twice, IMO -- he's almost ALWAYS causing problems, and he is no longer one of the best ever. And he DID cause problems his first year in Dallas -- missing nearly all of training camp because of a leg injury that the medical staff couldn't confirm, riding a stationary bike dressed like Lance Amstrong (Parcells really enjoyed that), and overdosing on meds which was oringinally thought to be a suicide attempt?
Maybe a team could overlook that nonsense if he were still in his prime, but he isn't anymore.
And I'm sure he'll love playing for the Bills.

When has Rosenhaus ever told him to shut the fuck up? And if he did, when has TO ever shut the fuck up?
My heart goes out to Trent Edwards. Good God, he's got a mess to deal with now!!
Bills = Idiots

I'm not saying that playing for the Bills wouldn't cause problems. He's gonna hate life in that passing game.
But not one of the best anymore? The only years for the last nine that he hasn't had double digit TDs is his final year in Philly when he was benched half the season, and his final year in SF when he had 9. YPR last year was higher than his career avg. The guy is still a phenomenal receiver, no matter how much you want to hate him.
The first year in Dallas his suicide thing was a distraction. That's an aberration and unlike anything he's done before...you can't call that a normal pattern for him. His injury seemed to be legit, and he didn't have any of his "typical" problems he seems to have once he gets unhappy in that first season. He didn't cause much of a distraction.
Meanwhile, that year he had almost 1,200 yards and 13 TDs, and the Cowboys made the playoffs and likely would have advanced had it not been for Romo's botched hold.
Argue it all you want. Getting this guy for one year is a smart move no matter how you cut it, and the Bills pulled it off. Kudos to them.
Now, if they sign him and bring him back after next year, THEN we can discuss how smart they are, cause that would be a terrible move.

Well, if they had to sign him, I agree that signing him to a one-year deal was a smart move, given his history. Whether or not signing him at all turns out to be a good idea remains to be seen, of course.
If nothing else, it'll make the Bills interesting for a change.

Bills were decent last year until they lost Schoebel on D and 2 guards on the OL. Then they slid bad with a D that couldn't win the game and an OL that couldnt produce.
I'd say they are thinking that they are one big piece away from a SB run and went for it. Time will tell, they still have to replace Jabari Greer.
We'll know late in the season or with an explosion whichever happens first if they made a smart move or not.

TO signed a 1 year deal, he play it out and then sign with another team. He will forever be a rental player now. What a shame for a player with his talents to such an asshole.

Seriously for the Bills, how much worse could it get? Not going to the playoffs again, or maybe losing the SB again?
I do not remember T.O. as the problem when the Ravens knocked them out of the playoffs. T.O. did his part, it was the defense that got run over when the game was on the line, and stunk for the first half of the season.
The circus around T.O. has to be a distraction of some sort, but I do not think he has that much impact on the other guys on the team, other than the single coverage and 7 in the box they will get because he is out there getting thrown at.
