curiously 6, not 8. This adds to my specualtion that two current roster spots are for future PSers. I think Ross and a cornerwill be demoted after week 1 and potentially a Vet OT or S would be added as well as the possibility of the return of Elling. If correct, that is a double positive as Ross or Martin if dropped today, would likely have not cleared waivers whilethey may next week, as well, the Vet would get paid on a game-by- game basis, not guaranteed for the season. i.e Elling last year, Jeff Gearge, etc.

I wonder how long Drew Olson will last. Hopefully we make it through the season with Olson, because I did see some things with Olson that are positive. Maybe more time in our system will benefit Olson.

I don't see how Kracalik is anywhere near this team. He is worse than Ethan Brooks.

Romby Bryant is an interesting prospect. Clarence Moore and Darling better look over their shoulders at this kid.

Haley is a nice prospect.

The others....... whatever.

The fact that we signed only six means that two from outside the organization could be added? Matua? Jacobs?

Very true points. The more likely scenario, in my opinion, has Ogelsby or Martin going to the PS. (As you can tell, I have a strong bias for Cory Ross to remain with the parent club).

When a player makes it to the practice squad, do they have the right of refusal if another team wants them? How does it work if another team is interested in that player?

For instance, I can remember that Brian St. Pierre was courted by the Steelers while on our PS, but St. Pierre turned them down in chose to stay with us. Would that be the same for any player on our PS? If so, then I would feel a little better about having either Cory Ross or PJ Daniels on there.

Also, after the first game, would Ross, Martin, Daniels, etc have to go through waivers before getting to the PS, or can we just place them on the PS?

Thanks.

Yes to both of your questions.

Jacobs made it on to the Steelers PS.

We could still sign him to our PS. I think.

In order for the Ravens to sign a player off another teams practice squad, they would have to elevate him to their active roster.

If what others are saying comes true I think the two players that go will be Ross and Oglesby. I would put money on it even. I was amazed that Oglesby even made the team, and I read an article that said Martin was the likely candidate to be converted into a backup S.

I think they still have to clear waivers but if a team claimed them they'd have to be added to that teams 53 man roster. Certainly a possibility but ultimately unlikely.

I was hoping (and still am...) that the FO will sign TLT to the PS. I think that kid is exciting to watch, has terrific hands and will one day be a player. He needs to spend some time in the weight room, absorb and apply some good coaching and he could be one of our receivers on the 53 man squad if Darling &/or Moore revert back to a version of their former selves...

I still expect St. Pierre is going to be re-signed after the first game and one of the rookies on our roster will be moved to the practice squad. Elling might get re-signed, too.

With reports of St. Pierre going to the Steelers this morning, could Olson be called back to the parent club and yet open up another PS spot? This week is going to be interesting.

So glad we didn't give up on Drew Olson yet. Time may be on our side.

I guess TLT is Travis LaTrendesse, the WR? yes, I think he has potential. shows you how the team has improved at this position; two-three years ago he'd probably make the team as the third receiver.

Actually, our P Sq is full now...Nick Leaders was signed to the P Sq, and we have an eight guy on there from NFLE...Samuel Gutekunst, an OT.

Actually that is not true. As there are only 8 players from NFL Europe on the practice squads of NFL teams this year, those teams get an exemption and are allowed a ninth practice squad player. AFC North is one of 2 divisions getting the NFL Europe players this year (it rotates every year). Check out the Steelers roster, they show 9 on their practice squad: http://news.steelers.com/team/player/
