Sorry, this site is nice but it's still not as good as RavensInsider. Too many wanna be journalists on here but the addition of A Wilson is a good start. And the message boards, there is hardly anyone on here yet. Give it time and this place will surpass it but not yet.

Better link (http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/teams/ravens/)
I couldn't find the poll on there, when directing people to a poll or anything it is recommended to give the full URL. I don't even see a link anywhere that would apparently take me to a page with the poll.

This site is definitely better than insider and quite obvious that someone on insider stuffed ye olde ballot box.....

Is it a pop up? I am having some pop ups blocked when I go there.

Using Firefox I got the option to see the pop up and voted.

That isn't the Insiders board, they aren't even a choice. That is Extreme Ravens which is run by a former Insiders poster and former contributor to Ravens24X7. I've been to the site and it is okay but doesn't have near the content Insiders or this place have, not even close.

They obviously had some bot running to stuff the ballot box, they have more votes than they get hits in a week.

ExtremeRavens has been bombarding with Myspace bulletins and messages telling people to vote for them. They have been posting about a bulletin a day and I got a message from them telling me to vote.

I used to go onto the other board and there would be post after post after post and after reading them....I felt dumber:eyes:

Well 5000 posts in three weeks isn't bad - and 274 members. Show me any start up that can do that. Remember we are select and have cool tools to weed out the trolls. We know who they are before they even start posting. And some we let post, unaware that their trolly smack is invisible to everyone except the mods which is quite amusing.

There was even a BuckDodgers sighting. He didn't make it past the welcome mat. The only place he can post is Extreme and by the looks of things, they're tired of his act as well.

Insiders it's not but then...that's the whole idea isn't it?

I can attest to that as well, because I have been getting them as well. Personally, I say let them win. Let the trolls go there instead.

Im sorry but YBR is terrible now. I've tried to go back there and post a litt;e but I just cant.

There is actually a faction over there that thinks that McNair should benched in favor of KB.:grbac:

This might be a silly question, but do we really want to win a popularity poll like this? I'm not so sure that we do. It seems to me that YBR's descent into Hell started sometime after the Fox affiliation started.

ExtremeRavens is terrible.

I have nothing against ExtremeRavens, but I find it hard to believe that 13000+ voted for that site while only 700+ voted for 24 x 7 (much less the small numbers for the other Ravens sites).

Seems to me that someone is out there stuffing the ballot box in a BIG way .

Extreme is OK. I have been a member there for a long while. Their BB platform is a good one - it was my second choice for this place and their site design is pretty good.

As for voting, to their credit they are in a network of NFL fan sites. I assume that they promote and vote for each other.

It's all good. I'm happy and after all, it's all about me :) Actually it's all about LadyRaven127 but she may not see this.

Actually, this site is already far better than the RavensInsider site had become in the past year or so IMO. That place has become a roid rage train wreck. It's impossible to have a civilized discussion over there anymore ~ that's why we're here. If you like that site better, that's the place for you. I've been posting here for two weeks and haven't been called an asshole, idiot or moron yet, if people don't agree with my opinion on something they either let it drop or respond like civilized human beings not animals ~ lets hope it stays that way.

For me, this site is the best and that's all that matters to me. Imagine once some years get underneath this place.

Besides, YBR has become a place for the young and the stupid.

I have never been to Extreme Ravens board. My time is limited only to this board.

I voted for this site out of general principle: ER steals content from other sites and discourages members from crediting the source. I also have contempt for the tactics Losac described that they are using to win this poll.

I’ll also say this: despite its problems, if SI listed Scout along with the others, it would win hands down. ER wouldn’t stand a chance. 24x7 is facing an uphill battle only because of its comparatively low membership count.

In addition, I didn’t notice an increase in the number of problems on Scout that coincided with the Fox takeover. In fact, it’s no better or worse, really. I can’t speak for the early, early days…only since I started reading it myself. The posters change, but the general tone remains the same.

As a mod over there, you’re caught between a rock and a hard place (and I realize that more and more now that I’m a mod myself): clamp down and come off as a Nazi…or ease up and allow the problems that drove people away to continue unimpeded. I’m trying to strike a middle ground of letting people speak their minds without allowing things get out of hand, but it’s a judgment call...and God knows I’m not perfect.

24x7 will grow, and the post count will go up…count on it. An ER win on this poll won’t mean much in the grand scheme of things.

I'll take quality over quantity anyday.Unless its money.

YBR had become a raging river, overflowing out of control.
You either went under,or push someone else down to stay afloat.
I still feel I left a part of me there.6000 posts worth. But it is what it is.
And I'm very comfortable here.

Wow, what happened to YBR? I used to go there literally everyday and loved it. I may not have posted much, but I was constantly reading, staying informed, and enjoying it.

But now? That place is a mess. I can't stand it, and it seems as though most of the good posters are gone and have been replaced with god knows what.

I'm so thrilled to have found this place. I notice all these familiar names, and it feels like home...haha. Not to mention that the interface is at least 10 times better than YBR.

Kudos to whoever's in charge. This is wonderful. Thank you.

I like the civilized tone here much better, but still visit YBR . There is a bitter faction that posters left . I think the change came when YBR was mentioned by HYH and other media peeps, the posters came out of the woodwork.(BTW I'm blaming no one)! This place too will grow and being under the radar is not necessarily a bad thing.:bag:

Useless info. YBR received 568 posts yesterday. We received 218. I don't know about Sunspot but it eclipses all the other snoozefests and we only have 270 members. Considering the membership at Insiders is supposed to about 25times this place that ain't too shabby.

Again, welcome to all who managed to get past the concierge :) For those who keep getting turned away...Waaaaagh!
