In trying to see some ’Silver lining’ to the cloud of the Stealers* Super Bowl win, we looked at the ‘benefit’ their win gave our Division. We decided to award 2pts for a Superbowl Win, and a point for a team losing. As luck would have it the additional two points lifts the AFC North into equal 4th All-time.

NFC East – 10-8 = 28pts
Cowboys – 5-3 = 13pts
Eagles – 0-2 = 2pts
Giants – 2-1 = 5pts
Redskins – 3-2 = 8pts

AFC West – 6-8 – 20pts
Broncos – 2-4 = 8pts
Chargers – 0-1 = 1pt
Chiefs – 1-1 = 3pts
Raiders – 3-2 = 8pts

AFC North – 6-3 = 15pts
Bengals – 0-2 = 2pts
Browns – 0-0 = 0pts
Ravens – 1-0 = 2pts
Stealers – 5-1 = 11pts

NFC West – 6-3 = 15pts
49ers – 5-0 = 10pts
Cardinals – 0-0 = 0pts
Rams – 1-2 = 4pts
Seahawks – 0-1 = 1pt

NFC North – 4-5 = 13pts
Bears – 1-0 = 2pts
Lions – 0-0 = 0pts
Packers – 3-1 = 7pts
Vikings – 0-4 = 4pts

NFC South – 1-2 = 4pts
Buccaneers – 1-0 = 2pts
Falcons – 0-1 = 1pt
Panthers – 0-1 = 1pt
Saints – 0-0 = 0pts

AFC South – 2-1 = 4pts
Colts – 1-1 = 3pts (Both as the Baltimore Colts)
Jaguars – 0-0 = 0pts
Texans – 0-0 = 0pts
Titans – 0-1 = 1pt

* They are the Stealers for this year - as they should never have won.

There is NO silver lining with the Steelers winning the Super Bowl. I hate them.

thanks for the number crunching, UK, and trying to be positive, but I have to agree wi Sports Steve; there is no upside to a Squealers win. ever.

I said I was trying to find some 'silver lining' - did not say I found it!!!!

At some point the 'strength of division' does become a factor - if it gets us one more TV game in the UK - it's a win for me!!!

Where's the AFCE?

Back of the envelope (please validate) gives me:
BUF - 0-4 = 4
MIA - 1-2 = 4
NE - 3-1 = 7
NYJ - 1-0 = 2

Total = 17
