Now, as I was saying about McCoy being pressuried out of his mechanics.
Way to go Reed, except for the lateral.

I swear, when Mattison realizes QBs fold under pressure and blitzes, this defense dominates. When he lets them rush 3 or 4 only, they get eaten up. The first big blitz and he noodles one to Reed.
Ed really needs to play smarter, though. But I think that's not gonna change at this point.

Only 4 or 5 rushed there. Mattison has been very good at getting unblocked blitzers without sending a huge amount of guys. When we have sent 6+, it hasn't looked too successful to me.

1st from the 29, Ravens ball, 4:35 to go, Rice gets it for 4.
2nd and 6, Rice looked like he had a hole and was absolutely met for 2.
3rd and 4, shotgun, complete to Boldin for 6. Too easy.

Nice. Everyone's rolling out of the stadium. Love it.
And that should do it. Welcome back to the playoffs Ravens! 3rd year in a row.
So at this point it's going to be either the 5 seed or the 2 seed. Is that right?

If the Jets win, the Ravens could still be a 6. If the Jets lose, I think the Ravens are guaranteed at least 5.

That sounds nice there dude but it's most likely just wishful thinking on your part. I think the reason the Browns were in this game today so long was because the Ravens let them hang around in this game because they didnt play good at all. All of the points the Ravens scored today were basically off dumb Cleveland mistakes of turning the ball over deep in their own end or that horrific onside kick by Dawson to start the half which gave the Ravens the ball at the Browns 38 yard line which lead to the Mason score. Mccoy looked terrible today and threw some bad interceptions and if you think he is going to be able to throw the ball next week against the Steelers defense like that next week since Hillis or Bell wont be able to run at all your dreaming dude. The Browns might do what they did today and hang around in the game against the Steelers for a half or so but in the end the Steelers will find a way to win the game. They are not going to let the Browns with a rookie QB beat them with the division title and first round bye on the line next week it wont happen...If youre going to sit here and tell me you were impressed with the Ravens today in this victory then you better put down the crack pipe and stop smokin it because the Ravens offense other then getting points off the turnovers by Cleveland the god awful onside kick was terrible...

Keep telling yourself that and maybe you can wake up from the dream at some point next week. If I was you I would worry more about taking care of business against the Bengals next week who have had your number as of lately then the Browns beating the Steelers...The Ravens in the end have nobody to blame but themselves for being in this position next week. Guys like you are going to look for any glimmer of hope or light at the end of the tunnel to where you will convince yourself to think the Browns will beat the Steelers next week and it most likely will not happen. If the Steelers dont beat the Browns next week as bad as they looked today quite frankly they dont deserve to win the division and get the bye week and they should just forfeit their playoff spot all together...
Ill say it again the Steelers will not let a rookie QB beat them with the division title and bye week on the line next week. Like I said you want to blame anybody blame your team for shitting the bed at home against the Steelers late in the game in Baltimore and for laying an egg to the Bengals the 2nd week of the season. Had you won at least one of those game you guys would be in first place and you wouldnt need to rely or come up with miraculous ways of how you can convince yourself of the Browns beating the Steelers next week with a rookie QB and a first round bye week in the playoffs on the line...

You possess the ability to make an English teacher's head spontaneously combust with your writing. Your writing seriously makes my eyes want to vomit.
If Pittsburgh wants to ever get out of the shit hole it has made itself, it might want to start educating some of you yinzers.
But back to football, I hope we get to play the Steelers in the playoffs. I would like nothing more than to send 70,000 inbreds home to to their shanties to beat their wives twice in one season.

Any fan who wants his team to intentionally fold a game to avoid playing someone is not a fan... they're a scared little nancy girl who should go watch college football. At least Ohio State gets to play East Louisiana Vocational Tech every year.
Remember, if Cleveland pulls it out we get the two seed. For you to be conceding not only the Cleveland game but ALSO the Baltimore/Indy game is just sad.

Really our woes against Indy have been more on the offense than the defense, with the exception of last year's playoff game, which was pretty much a team-wide meltdown.

I'm not getting personal. I'm calling a spade a spade.
He's saying he has no confidence in our ability to beat an 8-6 team. He's saying he wants us to concede the division to avoid an 8-6 team.
Clearly he's more of a fan of Peyton and Pitt than he is of us because he wants good things for them instead of us.

You have great opinions, maybe the most in line with my own on this board. Just try to refrain from personal slants. You are smarter than that.

I disagree. He's being a realist. Peyton's owned us. You could say that while you value the immediate wins, he values the wins that are more likely to come later if we don't face Peyton. I'm not saying I want us to tank, that would be a horrible sight, but nothing he's said is illogical.

1. We won't fold. We will have a chance to win the AFCN going into next week's game. If there ever was any chance of us laying down to manipulate our future matchup, this chance eliminates it.
2. The Raiders could definitely beat the Colts today. As I am typing this, the Jags choke against the Skins to give up their chance to sneak into the playoffs.

By the way, the Jags just blew the game (at home vs. the Skins -- what a bunch of chumps), so we're pretty much going to be facing the Colts. If we can't beat them when they're injured to the point of having a difficult time fielding a roster, then shame on us.

Exactly.
To trade a shot at the AFC north to avoid having to play them would be the kind of cowardice and defeatism that could lose a locker room.
After all the talk about mighty men, swords and shovels, What's our name?, et al... How in the world could this team respect a coach who tells them he's too afraid of Peyton Manning to take a shot at winning the division. How could Ray Lewis suit up for such a man? How could Joe? We wouldn't be trading a win now for an easier opponent later. We'd be trading this team's trust and respect, and our shot at the division, for a chance to play a team that may finish the season with more wins.
There's one word for that and it's PATHETIC.

Ya know, Payton Manning having beaten us so many times in the past had a little something to do with the team that was around him. They're a VERY beatable team, for us or for any other good or half decent team; which just hasn't been the case in the past. What happens happens; but the Ravens have absolutely not reason to be quaking in their boots. It's a good matchup.

No team can beat Peyton Manning he's just one man on a team, they can beat the Colts. So far this year 6 teams have done that.
Teams like the Texans, Jags, Cowboys, and Chargers. None of whom are currently playoff teams.
The Colts are vulnerable.

I haven't read through the multiple post regarding the Colts, but someone has to be smart enough to see that almost all of the games we lost weren't because of Peyton, it was because of their defense beating our offense. We go three and out like a billion times and give Manning like a million times to score. We score like once or twice on offense(field goal or TD) and expect that is enough points to beat Manning. Ed Reed gets at least one or two INT's against him so the mistakes by Manning are there. We give him way to much credit for there success against us and not their defense any. Just because they are horrible most of the year on defense and then man up for us should be alarming enough. Short and sweet, there defense owns us and that isn't saying alot about our offense that last couple years. Maybe with some more weapons for them to account for, we will be able to break the streak of losses.

Any team worth its salt will gladly do battle against the upper echelon teams. Bring on the Colts! This Ravens team will beat the Colts, and anyone else they need to. Personally, I'd love to face the Stillers again, because the Ravens are the Better team. But we will play whoever, and advance! It's time to seperate the men from the boys.

If there is ever a year to beat the Colts, it's this one. The Raiders are giving them a game right now and we're better than they are.
This team had better NOT sleep on the Bengals either if they want a shot at the division. They are beating the Chargers right now, and they are a division rival that LOVES to play us. IIRC they have done quite well against us recently, and we're one of their 3 wins.
