So with the lockout still going on I have been burning to find reasons to talk about football.

So I was thinking about Boldin and his numbers last year. How do you think his numbers will chasnge in the upcoming season? (Assuming there is one)

Do you think his receptions will go up from 64, stay the same or even drop? Will Cam/Flacco make it a point to have him more involved?

I really love this guys style of football and his toughness. I am hoping to see more Boldin this coming season...

Thoughts?

I think his numbers will go up plenty. He was not thrown at nearly enough. The guy was #1 all time in yards per game coming into the season. I am all for a balanced attack, spreading the ball around, but Boldin should get 8-10 throws his way per game and finish with no less than 80 grabs, 1,000 yards and 10 TDs. I do not think Joe should force the ball to him in double coverage, but any time he is singled up, he should get a long look, and probably a chance to make a catch whether the Cb has decent coverage or not. Warner just threw him the ball all the time even when the coverage was tight and a lot more often than not Boldin came up with the catch and some YAC.

Yea, I was thinking 80 to 90 grabs this year myself. He breaks a lot of tackles and can turn a very average play into some serious YAC and a TD. I am also hoping mason keeps his lips sealed about wanting the ball. It seems when he cries about getting the ball we throw his way 13-15 times a game. I love mason and his desire to have the ball but Boldin is our #1 now and Mason needs to understand age is getting to him and Boldin can simply do things Mason can't.

I am actually expecting 100-110 grabs from Boldin . The guy is a monster when it comes to YAC and he pushes the team as well with his devotion to win . I know that if he gets the ball more then we will see better plays being made by our entire team .

The better question is why wasn't he thrown at more last season??? Here's a guy with the potential to easily be the best WR the Ravens have ever acquired, and he only gets 64 catches? Last I checked, Cam was still the OC, and Harbs was still the HC. Why either of them would wait an entire year to get your biggest receiving threat more action is beyond me.

Sorry, with those 2 jokers at the controls, I don't have a lot of confidence that Boldin's numbers will change much from last year.

Boldin's numbers will improve next year and he'll be fine. There was plenty going against him last year, new to the system, Flacco still progressing, our running game / O-line crapping the bed, our offense struggling to find its identity all year. No doubt in my mind he has a 1,000 yard season next year, the guy works too hard not to progress from last year.

I agree. I have lost alot of confidence in Cam's play calling ability. Too many weapons were not used or not used effectively last year.

Boldin coming off the line was not getting much separation from the defenders...when he did, his YAC have always been tremendous. I was disappointed that Donte did not get more action down the sidelines with his speed, which in turn allowed other defenses to play Bolding tighter from the line.

For this year, the speed of Torrey along with last year with Flacco under his belt....look for a vast jump in offense for Boldin and for Flacco.
