View Full Version : Last Chance for the Eagles?
Do the Eagles have to beat the Redskins this week to save their season? If they lose they are now 4 games behind them for the division. They are also 1-5 which makes winning the wildcard remote.
If the Eagles miss the playoffs after the owner spent a fortune this offseason is Andy Reid out? It would be pretty interesting if Reid ends up the Ravens OC next season.

They need to pwn the Skins, not just win.
If they lose, kiss the playoffs goodbye and Andy Reid will finally have the time to mend fences with his family.
You might even see Vick's ouster.
Def a must win for Philly. Lose this game and the season is lost, no coming back from 1-5.
I dont want Ried as OC. He doesn't know how to run the ball.

I see problems for them in this game too. That wide 9 or whatever they're calling the front four, forces everything to the inside. That's where Washington could pound them and use Torrain. Plus they have decent TE play.
Unless Philly can light it up, they could struggle in a mid to low scoring game.

I wouldn't want Reid on this staff unless Cam leaves (which I'm not sure would be a good thing) AND Andy is only hired as a consultant or QB coach. Dude can make bad QBs look good and good ones look great but he's strictly a west coast guy AND he suffers from an allergy to running the football.
That said, if we do switch to the west coast offense, he could definitely help Joe and Rice light it up in the passing game.

Igles problems have been on defense and turning the ball over

If the Eagles miss the playoffs, everyone making decisions in that front office should be on notice.
As for Andy Reid potentially coming here, I would not like the idea. I do not think that Joe Flacco is a 'West Coast Offense' style of quarterback. I think that the 'Air Coryell' style of offense fits him better. They've worked hard to get him where he is now and he's still improving. It might be counter-productive to bring in someone as a coordinator who represents a significantly different system, especially after you just let go of a quarterbacks coach who represents a similar system to what Reid would.

Yeah, hiring your offensive line coach (with no defensive experience) to run your defense will do that. :insane:
I think the Redskins will win. With the embarrassment from last year and Shanahan being the type that holds a grudge, I think it is a given.

This game could swing the seasons for both teams. It's been a while, if I am not mistaken, since Washington has defeated Philadelphia. Washington has already lost to Dallas. This would leave them 1-2 in the division and only a game up on Philadelphia.

They are leading the League in rushing yards per game with 165.6.

I agree that this is a must win for the Eagles but I'm not sure Reid will be gone if they fail to make the playoffs. I believe the owners will give him another year, or at least the first 3 or 4 games next year.

I am secretly hoping that the Redskins pull out a win.

Over/under on what Q we'll see John Beck come out in?
I'm thinking Shanahan is stubborn and waits until 4Q.

Still no good team in the NFC East. Eagles playing with a sense of urgency at least.
Philly looks all right finally but the Redskins offense looks terrible.

Man, Rex Grossman is terrible.
Maybe the Redskins will call Denver up and see what they want for Orton, haha.
