Nice picture of a Hall of Fame player. You may not have much luck waiting for a broadcaster who hates the Steelers. That is more of a local thing than national.

You may not have much luck waiting for a broadcaster who hates the Steelers.

Don't need one that hates the Steelers, just want one to call the games that doesn't grimace when something goes wrong for the Steelers, and doesn't have a verbal orgasm when they do well.

In these parts, we refer to that as non-biased.

Even if Dierdorf does suck off my team, I still can't stand him.

Seemed like every time Ben was touched you'd hear Dan scream "Ben was CRUSHED after he let go of that ball!", and I'd expect to see him crumpled up on the ground surrounded by trainers and teammates...and he's up and walking around, and the replay shows nothing but a normal hit.

Or when Ben landed a little awkwardly on his right arm and was favoring it when he walked off the field - Dan went on for five minutes about it, showing replays to see what happened. Meanwhile you see live shots of Ben on the bench with no one looking at him, not looking to be in any real pain, and he comes back out and plays fine.

Shut up, Dan. We hear enough about Ben's injuries without you making it sound like he had his arm or leg ripped off every time he touches the turf.

Oh My God!!!!
Somebody pick me up off the floor as I think I just fell over and off my chair.
A Steeler fan sees and hears what we see and hear.
Cheers to you...:beer1:

Dierdork is horrible. Most would agree

Wallace has been more than I think anyone would've thought - what a find. I'm hoping Torrey Smith is that player for the Ravens

Squeelers fans don't know about links but here's the vid. Not much really,
Wallace ran by everyone on a busted play by the defense. It was a 40 yd
pass from the end zone and 60 yd run. Jen's pass that beat us on 3rd and 19
was longer and more dramatic.

This Wallace TD is much more impressive at Ole Miss and more difficult to
catch and it was a 50 yarder And DeCosta couldn't see this TD while watching
Oher and at a time when Joe needed weapons? He takes Kruger the Beast instead.

:grbac:

So much for multi-tasking.

I agree. Maybe there is a 96 yard TD throw next week? The Steelers will need every point they can get!

That was team record from what I understand. More to come I hope.

Trolls. Don't feed them. Or quote them.

Broken play? It looks to me like he ran by coverage and the safety came over and put up pretty good chase. Nothing like belittling the competition. I would guess that is one of he longest pass plays ever in the NFL. But then again, not big deal. A two time Super Bowl winning QB throws a record breaking pass to guy leading the league in long receptions and it is "nothing really." What do players have to do to get some respect! I will take that low drama all day long!

I agree, that play was much more dramatic. That was one for the annals of Steelers history. I remember the color guy saying "he did everything he could to drop the ball."

Yeah, just a routine 95 yard record setting pass in the NFL. No big deal. Laughing.

Even if Dierdorf does suck off my team, I still can't stand him.

Seemed like every time Ben was touched you'd hear Dan scream "Ben was CRUSHED after he let go of that ball!"Not that it irks me THAT much, and I can easily let it pass, but one thing that does stick with me is the use of a player's first name when calling a game.

Unless you are calling everybody by their first name, or at least the other QB, it comes off (in my opinion) of a closeness and a the lack of objectivity. And no one is more guilty of this than Dierdorff during a Steelers' game.

"Aww, what a play by Ben."
"Ben was great on that read."
"Ben really took a shot there."

Are you the national broadcaster (and supposed to at least try to project objectivity), or his agent?

Mind you, if you had an announcer call Flacco "Joe" all the time, I think I would be just as irratated (but I don't think any do...)

Just my little pet peeve, I guess....

That is a reasonable position. They do use Payton a lot too.

What was so recordsetting about it? Didn't BRady throw a 99yd'er to Welker a few weeks ago?

All time Steeler record but no worries. No big deal as you have properly diminished it. Laughing.

Of course, argue minutia. Even if Brady broke it, I could not tell you, it was a record setter for the Steelers. But, I am sure, that is still not good enough. Nothing really ever is.

Maybe offer some sound evidence next time. Find out for sure if he broke it before just offering conjecture. But as I said, regardless, it was a Steeler record.

I am hoping for a longer TD pass this week . . ..

NCRaven -

You are correct. Brady threw a 99 yarder to Wes Welker (of all players!). Anyway - still a record breaking pass for Roethlisberger, Wallace, and the Steelers.

For the record, Brady pisses me off. He is too good to be playing in this league.
