Been jumping back and forth between the World Series and the disgrace of a game on NBC.
The Colts are being edged out 62-7, but there are still over 12 minutes left for them to mount a comeback.
What a disgraceful effort.

Is 12 minutes out too early to start taking a knee? Geez, they need a mercy rule.

I don't recall ever seeing a 70-point game in the NFL.
Wouldn't mind this being the first!
EDIT: The Irsays just punted from the 50 down 55 with 6:42 left. Now that's disgraceful.

Looks like the Dolts are well on their way to going 0-16.

Thats what the Irsays get for assigning #19. God are they awful.

Taking a knee would improve the Colts offense. I noticed Joe Reitz is starting at left guard. Ravens PS guy.

Brees literally raped the Colts defense tonight. His stat line is insane.

Who should trade for Manning? I would think San Fran, NYJ, Wash, SEA, and MIA should all take a good look! Luck very well could be heading to Indy.

I got a few snickers from friends when I said the Colts were maybe an 8-8 *with* Manning.
Manning does mean a lot, but he doesn't play defense.

That is if manning can play again.....The Dolphins snatched defeat from the jaws of victory today to match the Irsays.

It makes you proud to be a Raven's fan, doesn't it.
When losing one player makes your season crash and burn like that, you have a terrible front office.

There was a 72-0 game in the 1940's: Chicago Bears vs. Redskins. Bears won.Apparently there was player dispute with George Preston Marshall and the Redskins showed their displeasure by not competing.

Defense gave up the points. 7 points sucks but.....

The irsay franchise is a disgrace to the league. They should be contracted.

I wonder if anyone accused the Saints of running up the score? Or is that just reserved for the Ravens?:eyes::229031_confused2:

The Colts have seriously been exposed as being the Indianapolis Peyton Manning they are... er... were.

If I recall correctly, the 1940 NFL championship game was Bears 73, Redskins 0. The Redskins beat the Bears 7-3 earlier in the year, and George Preston Marshall claimed his team had more guts than the Bears or some such thing. The Bears were fired up for the championship game and also unveiled the 'new' T-formation. Hall of Fame Redskins QB Sammy Baugh threw a pass to a receiver in the end zone which was dropped. After the game he was asked if the outcome of the game would have been different had his receiver caught the pass for the score. Baugh quipped, "Yup, it would have been 73-7."

After the game he was asked if the outcome of the game would have been different had his receiver caught the pass for the score. Baugh quipped, "Yup, it would have been 73-7."Funny thing is, if Painter airs out his first pass just a tad longer, Garcon takes it 80 yards and the Colts are up 7-0 on the game's first play from scrimmage. Which would've made the final score something like 62-14...

If they could just get a healthy Peyton back on defense and special teams, the Colts would be a serious contender, man.
I got a few snickers from friends when I said the Colts were maybe an 8-8 *with* Manning.

Actually, he kind of does. When they jump up on a team it makes the opposition one dimensional and so the Irsays have relied on a defense made up of two stud pass rushers and little else for a long time. When Sanders was in there they had some ability to stop the run, which along with putting the other team in a hole was enough.
Without Manning their one dimensional defense is exposed.

Im voting Peyton Manning for MVP. I think this team has proven what he means to them.

Couldn't happen to a nicer team. Couldn't happen to better NFL ownership.
I only hope the Ravens can put 100 points on them in December

I hope they trip up and win one so they don't get a shot at luck. but watching them get abused on national tv was kind of entertaining

That franchise should be re-named "The Indianapolis Mannings". Because without Peyton, they really aren't an NFL team.
I watched most of the game with wicked pleasure. After 27 years, I'm still pissed at what Robert Irsay did to Baltimore. There's probably some psychological term for this, but that's beside the point. I hate Indy more than Pittsburgh. That's right, way more than Pittsburgh. There! I've admitted it! And I feel great! Bwah-hah-hah-hah-hah!!!!!!!!!!!

That was a beat down.

Schadenfreude? Should the Ravens treat the Colts the same way, it would be a schadenfreudegasm!

Schadenfreude. Of course! I should have known this from watching The Simpsons...
Lisa: Dad, do you know what schadenfreude is?
Homer (sarcastically): No, I do not know what shaden-frawde is. Please tell me, because I’m dying to know....
Yep, I freely admit to feeling this where Indy is concerned.

I remember how full of themselves the Indy fans were when I was in Indianapolis at the playoffs in 2010 for Ravens vs Colts. I bet none of those fans was laughing last night like I was! LMAO!

My questions is, does Sean Payton get skewered by the media for running up the score and having his starters in like Harbaugh did in week one on a much lower scoring game?
If not, why the discrepancy?

Sirius NFL actually described the beat down in glorious terms. Drew Brees was described as the "hero" of the game.

Drew Brees, actually, did not play in the fourth quarter. Neither did Marques Colston, if I am not mistaken. Both teams had their backups in.
