After we squeaked by with a 34-7 win and almost turned the ball over once, I remember thinking: We need to fire our quarterback!

I hope that this doesn't come across as another senile old bastard stuck in the past, but we had so many interesting incidents that happened to us or friends that it's worth listing some for your amusement:
In a nutshell, we flew in to Jax on $100 r/t SWA tickets, drove across state to Tampa with no game tickets, only possible leads on where to find them. Plus $4,000 cash stuffed in my wife's bra on game day.
two of our group got into the stadium via method which I can't state in writing - except that we were now down to $3200 in her bra.
my wife - who has never even gotten a parking ticket in her life - refused to participate in a practice of questionabale legality, so we tried other options in direct competition with literally thousands of Giants fans, plus hucksters, con artists, pickpockets. The crowd outside the Tampa Stadium was so slimy that it made the sidewalk along the Las Vegas Strip look like a church picnic. :grbac:
we ran into one guy who gave $2,000 to a con artist for two tickets, which were, upon closer examination, tickets for the "NFL Experience", a mediocre exhibit adjacent to the stadium that the NFL actually charge fans to attend.
a friend wound up buying a single for over $1,000 from New Jersey mobster ticket brokers with whom he had a contract, who tried to intimidate him into coughing up extra money. (Perhaps they really weren't mobsters, just typical Jerseyite wise guys with thick Jersey accents).
My wife, while waiting for me to return from arranging for the others to get into the stadium, was interviewed by local, national, and even international media. She had a large zit on her face, so she covered it up with a large Ravens washable tatoo, which, coupled with the purple feathers laced into her hair braid, attracted the media, starting with Ch 2's Mary Beth Marsden, a couple newspapers, a local Florida TV station (descibing her as "the Bird Lady from Baltimore"), even a Jap TV reporter.
Although she felt comfortable hanging out nearby the stadium to allow me to enter, there was no way I was going to leave her alone in a big city, especially being overrun by mobsters and petty criminals, so we went back to our rental car two blocks north of the stadium in a city park
Wound up tailgating and watching the game on a 12 foot projection screen, with a dozen or so Giants fans, all from Florida. The Stealth bomber which flew over the stadium started accelerating just over the park, so we got the jet wash over our heads.
Of course, we had to quietly cheer when Stokley caught the TD pass and Jermaine and Starks had their big play TDs, but the Giants fans were pretty cool with us.
Post-game, we ran into one of my wife's former Sunday School students who is part of Bisciotti's inner circle, and separately Mike McCrary's parents - we tried to wrangle an invitation to the Ravens post-game celebration party, but not to be.
Also post-game, we wound up with Jane Miller doing her post-game report for Channel 11 News. A drunken Giants fan started hurling obscenities to her while the camera was rolling, then he tried to physically accost her. He tried reaching over my wife with his fist drawn. I nudged my wife aside, supplanted myself in between the drunk and Jane (who had ducked to avoid the swing), and, along with a few other Ravens fans, pushed the drunk away, while he cursed and babbled. I have no idea how much, if any of this incident made it to the Baltimore airways, since I was in Tampa and this was in the pre-DVR era.

watched game at a buddy's house after church, picked up pizza on way.
I was thrilled to pieces when Stokely got the td. I remember thinking we can shut their O down but we HAVE to get some points. the field goal late in the half was huge at the time. 2nd half we just sat back and cheered. woo hoo! I was just happy to have a team back in the state, let alone a champion!
ps; don't think anyone will match your story T! :mrt:
