Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
And I feel for you guys. These two hosts are awful. Are they really debating over who is better between Alex Smith and Joe Flocco on AFCCG week?? :insane:
You guys must want to reach through the speakers and choke these jokers. :grbac:
Is this what it's like all the time?? No wonder Joe is taking shots at the media.

I'm no fan of our local radio hosts save a few, but this is a debate able topic.
It's a debatable topic for sure... but it just doesn’t seem very relevant on the week of a championship game. It'd be like our local hacks debating Brady/Manning I suppose.
Re: Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
Were you listening to 105.7 "the fan?" Here is a run down.
Steve Davis - not terrible but his love of Derrick Mason can get annoying
Ed Norris - great political talk show host converted to mediocre at best sports talk host.
Ken Weinman - resident Matt Ryan lover and Steeler fan (although he denies it). Famed Orioles apologist.
Vinny Cerrato - couldn't get a job anywhere else, shamed ex-GM and ultimate Dan Snyder jock sniffer (still).
Bob & Rob - definitely the best the area has to offer even if Rob Long is terrible at predicting NFL draft picks
Scott Garceau - good play by play, boring as talk show host
Jeremy Conn - Colt fan from Maryland (too young to be old Colt fan) who named his son Peyton. 'Nuff said.
Mark Zinno - god awful. New York guido in every sense of the word. When you hear his voice don't even turn off your radio, rip it out of your car and run it over with a truck to ensure you will never have to suffer that experience again
so yea, one good show out of four isn't a great statistic.

Which station. There is more than one.

Wait another 12 mins. The show will be much better with Bob and Rob. The others uh.... welll kinda suck
Re: Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
Weinman & Cerrato are horrible. I have no idea why the hired an ex-Redskins GM to host a Baltimore talk show. However, worse than these 2 is Garceau and Conn. Thanks goodness for WNST as another option.
I turned on Garceau and Conn around 4pm last Friday and they weren't talking about anything even remotely interesting. Then I tuned in WNST and they were interviewing the Texans play by play guy. Then WNST interviewed Bum Phillips. What a difference in programming!
However, Davis and Norris are great as well as Bob & Rob. I wish they would switch the Garceau/Conn and Bob/Rob timeslots though.

Except Manning isn't in the final four - Flacco and Smith both are... its not that difficult

Eli is.
Re: Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
OK good point Brick; guess I'm so used to the PM Brady ongoing debate.
Not sure the Eli/Brady debate would take too long...

It wouldn't which is why I wasn't sure if you forgot about Eli or were sarcastically making the above point!
Re: Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
With 2 Major Sports Franchises, one of which blows, and a bunch of colleges that suck at sports, there is a lack of things to talk about... especially when the Ravens win as often as they do.
Re: Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
I'm listening to Boston WEEI and it's not much better. FWIW.

Who plays QB for the NYG's? :)
Seriously though.. I know the reasoning behind it, Im just saying that it's a lame topic that's much better saved for if it ends up being the HarBowl.
ya know?

WEEI is horrific.
98.5 The Sports Hub is what you want to listen to up here. WEEI is beyond brutal.
Re: Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
I had the misfortune of listening to 105.7 in the morning when I was in Balt in December. It was god awful.
Re: Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
Most media is "what have you done for me lately" as evidenced by the baptizing of Alex Smith as the next coming.
According to these people, one division game winning drive (at home) > the best record in the NFL, EVER in the first 4 years + 4 playoff births + a 6-3 record in the playoffs, etc etc.
But my question is, "why ride your teams second best offensive playmaker unless you have to?"
And right now, Ray Rice is the man.
Flacco has plenty of playoff wins, and some big game-winning drives to win big games too, albeit not a playoff drive...yet.
But those game winning drives in Pittsburgh the past two years were no small shakes. I have confidence he can do it if called upon.
Re: Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
The 6pm sports show on WBAL is pretty good. The host seems to shuffle between Quadray Ishmail, Brett Hellender, and Keith Mills, but they have lots of good guests.
Re: Listening to your local sports station this afternoon
Heard a really good interview with Ed Reed yesterday on NFL Sirius channel 088. Was dissappointed to hear that his ankle was feeling good. lol
I wish Brady would do more than just the mandatory WEEI Monday morning spot.
