    Re: Does Ben Play?

Article on CBS Sports about this weekend's games says he's expected to play, but it is the only place I've seen it. I still expect him to play.

Been pretty busy this week and not following the news but my gut tells me if he can give it a try, he will. This is a must win for them if there ever was one

    Re: Does Ben Play?

Ben Roethlisberger (ribs, shoulder) remains unsure if he'll play in Sunday's game against the Ravens.
Roethlisberger's rib situation has been medically cleared and his shoulder is structurally sound. The question is range of motion and throwing the ball effectively. Per Big Ben, it will come down to arm strength and only arm strength. He'll continue to test that out in practice over the next two days despite still feeling some pain in his shoulder/rib area. Good, I hope he plays and when he goes to wind up for a pass... BOOM!! Mr. Sizzle is holding his arm in his hand with a grin.

EDIT: Knowing Sizzle though he will put it in his fridge next to Ben's ass.

I get the feeling he'll play, but will be ineffective due to a really beat up o-line.

I think he will play. He says it will only come down to arm strength and he's already prepared to wear extra kevlar padding

Per Roethlisberger, the decision will be based on his arm strength and only his arm strength because he isn’t currently having any other problems that will keep him from playing.

I still think he's not playing.. In fact, he's telling reports today that he still has significant pain and not much arm strength.

I just can't help but think back to the SF game last year.

My gut tells me he won't, my head tells me will....

Of course he's telling them that!! It wouldn't be his typical "look at me fighting through the pain to play" if he told the truth about it. You do know he milks the media so it makes him look more heroic don't ya?

    Case in point:

    One report he says this:
Per Roethlisberger, the decision will be based on his arm strength and only his arm strength because he isn’t currently having any other problems that will keep him from playing.

    Then, in this one:
Roethlisberger said "there's always a chance" he could play against the Ravens but isn't sure his injured arm will cooperate. When asked if the issue is pain or arm strength, Roethlisberger said "both."

How can it be "both" in one article and "only" in another? If it's "ONLY" down to arm strength, then pain isn't a factor.

Totally different scenario. This injury is all about throwing motion AND arm strength. The SF game was all about how mobile he would be in the pocket. He has always been able to beat teams with his arm alone. When it works, that is.

Yeah, even hurt, he gives them their best chance of winning.

(Standing upright + medially cleared + pain killers) Season on the Line = Ben Playing

If anything that makes this game even gloomier. His numbers that day:

    56.8% Comp. 3 INT 1 FUM 0 TD.

If that was with a broken foot imagine what it would be like if he can't throw.

    Re: Does Ben Play?

I have believed after seeing the debacle the last two weeks, if he can manage the offense, he will come in to hand off and get the ball out extremely quick...which is what their offense was changed into in the first place. HE was hurt while trying to extend a play.
If he can lead them to two scoring drives, with one of them a TD, then he might come out and hope the defense can hold them off.
Against the Giants it took one crossing route, very short pass over the middle to Wallace, who did the rest.
Any offense in Pitt two weeks ago might have led to a Steeler win.
A win this Sunday gets them back into the thick of things.

This game needs to be a 2012 defining moment for the Ravens.

HE can throw. I am not buying his BS. I read earlier that he just had to "tear the scar tissue" and basically after that his arm would be normal.

Arm strength will not be an issue, it's not like he's been out for months, it's just a few weeks.

HE IS NOT PLAYING. I would bet money on it if there were online currency... but there isn't so I won't.
