Re: Norv Turner, Welcome to Baltimore
Wow that was horrible... How does this guy think his team is going to take him seriously. How did take a question about Rice not getting the ball in the 4th to we have to convert on 3rd down. Well let's see him Cameron, if Rice is banging 6-7 yard runs on 1st down then that just might increase your ability to get a 1st down. This guy is a an idiot. Blah Blah Blah....
If it was to take Norv now to finish the season I would say go for it and see how he does, granted it wont all be apples silver and gold with the adjustments but they could get a look at some potential.

Re: Norv Turner, Welcome to Baltimore
I'm not in favour of getting Norv after Cameron. He might be an upgrade, but it won't be by much.
I'd rather see us find a younger up-and-coming OC who is going to want to take risks to make a name for himself. It'll be Harbaugh's job to keep the risks reasonable. I don't think we have that tension between the OC and the HC right now.
Billick as the OC in Minnesota was aggressive and creative. After finally coming to realization that he didn't have the pieces in Baltimore to do that in 2000, he never looked back. As HC, he never went back to that. A huge part of our problem on offense during his tenure, imo, was his trying to wear two hats and never letting any of his OC's really push the talent on the field.

Re: Norv Turner, Welcome to Baltimore
That leads to nothing.
And also, Brady fan, really? Is that supposed to be an insult?
Am I not supposed to like him because Im a ravens fan?
Troy Aikman threw for over 20 TDs in a season 1 time. He is possibly one of the most overrated QBs of all time.
Straight from the mouth of a San Diego fan from another forum I just found:
Question should be, what's not wrong with Norv Turner. He's way worse than Cam Cameron. Guy doesn't adapt to defensive schemes. Predictable on offense. Sure he's had success with deep passes, TE plays and screens, but once people figure him out he can easily be out coached.

Umm. No.
Cam is a Norv wanna be. There is nothing in Cam's game that's like Norv.
Cam can claim all he wants he has and AC system in place, but he hasn't fielded a true AC offense since his one year in Miami.
The AC offense is a great counter to the zone blitz and since we see that defense twice every year, it only makes sense.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Take it from us Charger fans. Stay the fuck away from Norv Turner.

Re: Norv Turner, Welcome to Baltimore
I like Norv better than Cam, but I also think that if some of you think he is going to come here and bring anything innovative, you are mistaken.
I find it funny that nobody here is putting any blame on Norv for Rivers decline...despite Rivers still being in the age range of a QB's prime in today's NFL. When Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates stopped dominating other teams secondaries, Norv hasn't been able to get the same production. IMHO, some of Rivers apparent decline has to be laid at the feet of Norv.
IMHO, we should go after an offensive coach from the Shanahan/Kubiak coaching tree...Shanahan was a master of creating and taking advantage of matchups.Although Walsh's system of offense can compensate for lack of talent; however, defense is a different story. According to Walsh, talent on defense was essential and could not be compensated for. What did Walsh do in 1981? He acquired physical and talented players on defense.

Re: Norv Turner, Welcome to Baltimore
Norv never coached with John or his father. He never played with his brother. No way John Harbaugh hires anyone with those flaws to be OC.
