I remember being at that game. The fumble and the punt return happened within about a minute of each other, and my dad missed both plays in line for the mens room.

Seriously, I miss billicks passion and football smarts. And this is definitely a reminder that I don't want to roll the dice at qb.

Re: BLAST FROM PAST - Billick mic'd up @ Skins
I think what also stands out in my mind is that BB tells someone (OC or QB coach) to talk to Boller... he then talks to Boller about seeing the field... I too often see Flacco sitting on bench alone..
I wish that BB fire would be more apparent with this group...
I wanted to scream when I watched Peyton holding court with his OLine & WRs last week after a missed opportunity... we suffer from a lack of leadership it seems in several key areas.. but what do I know?

I saw that too. ESPN America plays it during commercial breaks. I wish Joe would do that. Huddle his troops together after every series, good or bad. I Joe is a low key, even keel kind of guy...but sometimes you gotta be a vocal leader.
Maybe he actually does this and its just never showed on TV."It is an undeniable and may I say fundamental quality of man that when faced with extinction, every alternative is preferable." —Leonard Church

Re: BLAST FROM PAST - Billick mic'd up @ Skins
Generally after every series Flacco heads to the bench to look over photos of the Defense and talk (to Caldwell I imagine) over the phone. Most QBs seem to spend the time between plays with either their QB coach or OC.
(Lol... Imagine trying to talk to Cam.
Joe- "Hey, I was thinking on the next series we could throw it across the middle of the field."
Cam- "NO! That is not our way! Thar be dragons lurking in between the hash marks lad. Trust the sidelines, they're our best weapon in these dark times!"
Joe- "Yea.... I'm gonna... go..."My motto was always to keep swinging. Whether I was in a slump or feeling badly or having trouble off the field, the only thing to do was keep swinging. -Hank Aaron

Not that I am purely focused on Joe at home games - He is often on bench --- alone or on phone. It was nice to see in the 1 Winning Drive show (SD game) that he was telling OL & WRs he wanted to up the tempo.... not in a demanding tone or with sense of urgency, but at least he was being vocal....

Totally disagree and I'd argue just the opposite.
Joe is constantly in his offenses ears on the sidelines. Yes, he's occasionally on the phone but every game that I've attended and have been close enough to see the goings on on the sideline, he's a constant presence talking to numerous players on the sidelines.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. Except that we lost that Pats game.
My favorite Billick moment was him running down the sideline next to Cmac on a pick 6. I forget which game it was (Denver maybe?) but I think it was in 2004.WARNING: This post may contain material offensive to those who lack wit, humor, common sense and/or supporting factual or anecdotal evidence. I think you mean CMac's 107 yard FG return. Billick starts running at 1:41
