That's a lot of optimism, but hey, this is the silver lining thread.

Realistically, the Ravens should rest their injured starters next week. Play them against Giants if circumstances dictate. With the AFC North won, rest them against Bengals. That's the smart thing to do. This team, if healthy, could still make some noise in the playoffs.

    Silver lining?

LOL! Blew a game you just don't lose if you're an elite team with a chance to seal up the division or at minimum a playoff game.

Also possibly lost a couple more key players to injury (Yanda missing from our O-line is huge).

So, no.. ever with the STeelers and Bengals losing there is no silver lining today.

    Re: Silver Lining Thread

Is there a sliver lining? Injuries piling up, D played terrible when it mattered, Flacco was fire in 1st half, ice in 2nd and OT, we likely lost Yanda for year.

The silver lining is that Bengals and Steelers lost, so we kind've get a mulligan. But this team looks like they are just barely keeping their head above water, and the sharks (Broncos, Giants, Bengals) are circling. Can we kick them off with a patchwork D, a patchwork OL, and floundering offense?

Wish I could say we were rebuilding, but no, this was supposed to be a contender team. Now it seems like it's pretending!

Silver lining - Flacco made himself way more affordable today, and Oher will likely be back at the vet minimum.

    Re: Silver Lining Thread

The silver lining is that now that Ravens fans have had their hearts broken two weeks in a row, no one is going to get apoplectic if (as looks increasingly likely) they don't win another game all season.

The one thing that has killed the offense this season (minus coaching) is the o-line. Oher needs to go.
Joe stands in the pocket toooooooo long and got stripped, intercepted and sacked. Blame Cam if you want but the ball was in Joe's hand. The Ravens stall all starts with JOE! And yes Oher needs something.

Are either of these positives? If Oher sucks, why bring him back AT ALL?

Yep, that 121 rating today was horrible. He sucks. Get rid of him.

Another silver lining, if you want to call it that:

With no chance at the 2nd seed realistically (not mathematically) and I have no doubt we'll still win the AFCN, we don't have to worry about winning out/tie breakers (to an extent).

We'll be playing WC weekend and at least we'll be hosting.

Joe was throwing the ball as he got hit. I don't know what any QB could do in that situation. Oher didn't even get his hands on the guy. The play looked a lot like this one...

There is actually a silver lining.. I went and read some posts on Steeler Addicts.. The Steelers got 34 laid on them at home, and a bunch of the fans are blaming the refs. Funny stuff on a disappointing day.

My God, other QBs have sack fumbles? What trickery is this? Impossible!

But yeah, the defender made a great play. Flacco got to the top of his drop and was unloading the ball on time... Oher simply HAS to SLOW THE GUY DOWN. He didn't even do that.

Todays result was predictable. some of us saw it and said so several weeks ago and were laughed at because of a miracle 4th down play. This team is not so good and the coaching staff leaves quite a bit to be desired. The Ravens now play not to lose rather then to win.

Sadly I'm starting to believe this. Just watching his demeanor on the sidelines the last two games tells me everything I need to know.
