The Jets
...make me feel a little better about being a Ravens fan these past few weeks. Ugly.

Leave Sanchez in Nashville, such a TERRIBLE display of quarterbacking.

Re: The Jets
I am cracking up listening to Dilfer just lay into the Jets right now.
We can battle until dawn about Joe Flacco. But there is no doubt that
Flacco >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Sanchez
He is just horrible.

Re: The Jets
Damn. Rex just said he was not ready to say who was going to be the QB next week.

Re: The Jets
No idea what happened to Sanchez, he seemed to have "it" as a rookie and now just looks terrible. Ryan will be unemployed, Tebow will be failing, and Sanchez will be out of football.

Re: The Jets
If Ryan is truly fired, I would make a full court press to bring him back as DC. But, he might have too much pride for that, don't know.
Another guy, who might be on the outs, would be Jim Schwartz. Baltimore native, was great DC in Tennessee. I don't think they get rid of him just yet, but that team is also collapsing down the stretch too..

Re: The Jets
At least we didn't trade up for Boller... oh...wait.
Seriously though, Sanchez's struggles really do put things in perspective about Joe and makes us realise just how good he is. The chances are that, no he won't become Brady/Peyton, but few do. It's what defines their ilk as being 'greatest ever'. We criticise Joe for his perceived lack of progress, but compared with Sanchez, who looked pretty good his first few years and led the Jest to some clutch wins but has clearly regressed in a major fashion, Joe has made huge strides.Last edited by Ravenblue; 12-18-2012 at 03:16 AM.

Re: The Jets
I have always felt that Flacco and Sanchez were pretty similar. Look good one game, horrible the next. But after watching that display of horriblness I will never make that comparison again. The Jets had so many chances, so many. And Sanchez couldn't perform a simple snap exchange or screen pass. When he did get a little rythm going they brought in Tebow for a series and he was beyond horrible. I feel bad for Rex.
$8M or not, they have to part ways with both of those QBs and move on.World Domination 3 Points at a Time!

Re: The Jets
Don't care what anyone says, I'd give anything to have Rex back here as the DC...

Re: The Jets
Thanks for the laugh, that is funny. Seriously though, this trade to bring Tebow in as co-starter will go down in NFL history infamy. It was a purely publicity move that backfired hugely. Very unfair to both Sanchez and Tebow. It gives every NFL fan a reason to dislike the Jets, if they didn't already.

Re: The Jets
Sanchez rules, especially when you're getting +2258 on a prop bet that the next play will be an INT!!!

Re: The Jets
I scheduled a chimney inspection recently & the company sent a couple of brothers originally from Long Island. I casually asked them if they were Giants fans & they said No, Jets, & before I could stop myself I blurted out, You poor bastards...
The real problem with the Tebow trade is that it laid bare the dirty not-quite-secret of the NFL: It's become nothing much more than a made-for-TV reality show. "Survivor" with more rules & a longer history. Ca$h is king--generated by TV contracts--priced by ratings--generated by controversy, notoriety, herd following, & (very occasionally) the quality of play. The Jests noted that almost the instant the Ponies drafted Tebow his jersey (not even worn yet) shot to the top of the sales lists, & decided he represented a major opportunity to target the huge national fundamentalist-Christian demographic. (And who knows, the kid might actually be able to play some?)
Let's not forget, though, that the situation started to slide toward farce when Sanchez was drafted with the #5 pick overall--waaaay above the skill set he showed at USC. That too was a ratings-driven target-demographic move--the target in this case being Hispanics, who prefer to follow futbol that's actually played with the feet.
But I agree that both young men are probably damaged goods (at least as football players) from here on out.

Re: The Jets
Yea ... things certainly could be worse right now! Being a Jets fan would probably really suck right about now, turning the freakin ball over 5 times tonight. Meltdown city!
