How much does Pagano know about the Ravens?
He certainly knows the players, but Pees style has struck me as very different from Pagano (sometimes not for the better). As our defensive coordinator, I think the last offense he would have spent any time breaking down would be ours, but I actually have know idea. Rex never seemed to have a big advantage over us, neither did Marv.
I think next week could be very high scoring.

Bruce Arians also knows us pretty well. The Ravens clearly didn't prepare for the Bengals, they have likely spent all week looking at the Colts. I trust our coaching staff to come up with something, given a two week advantage.

Re: How much does Pagano know about the Ravens?
Hmmm, I wonder how well Caldwell knows the Colts? I know they didn't have luck and they've since switched to a 34 Hybrid from their old 43 Tampa 2 from the Manning/Dungy/Caldwell days, but I'm sure he knows their personnel.

I don't buy the theory that ex players or coaches give significant information to their new teams.

How much does Chuck know about his own team? He's had much bigger things going on for most of the season.

Re: How much does Pagano know about the Ravens?
I totally disagree with those that think we should have worked on the offense this week during the Bengals game.
We have quite an advantage right now. We have an offensive coordinator, with no history of calling plays, other than the Giants game. There's no way any team can adequately prepare their defense for us. When Cam was here, the offense was entirely predictable, and had 5 years of the same coordinator calling the shots. Right now, not even us fans know what to expect, and we watch every play of this team each and every week. To me, that's one hell of an advantage to have going into a playoff game.
I'll sacrifice working out whatever kinks we may have in order to keep Indy unprepared for us.

I think they should have pushed the offense a little more than they did and try to build on what they did last week.

Re: How much does Pagano know about the Ravens?
Agree. There may be one point or two about a particular player that Caldwell or Pagano can maybe use this weekend. But for the most part, this game will come down to same things as every other game: Game-planning and in-game adjustments for the coaches, execution for the players.

I'm sure he knows enough to help his team game plan. Especially on defense.

Re: How much does Pagano know about the Ravens?
I don't think anyone knows anything about the Ravens right now. Reading the SI, CBS columns this morning, everyone basically saying the same thing, that nobody has any clue what the Ravens are right now. The offense is a total mystery and Sunday will be the first time our defense has everybody (except Webb
) active all year long. I guess Chuck has some knowledge of the Ravens defensive players, what they do best and what they don't do so well, but other than that, not much.

He knows when/where/how Ed Reed likes to gamble.
That could be a problem for us.

Re: How much does Pagano know about the Ravens?
I think both Pagano and Caldwell know alot about each other's players.
And we know much about the 3-4 that Pagano has placed in Indy.
And our Offense has played the Steelers, one of the best 3-4 in the league, year after year.
I think we will be able to move the ball. I remember the way to get after the Colts was to negate their pass rush by running right at Freeney. Well, they will still get in the backfield, so the ball has to come out quick in the passing game and take advantage of the middle of the field with all receivers.
The thing that changed the landscape was sending Cam packing.
Peyton may know Caldwell the best but he isn't a Colt, so this is an advantage game plan wise for the Ravens.
Caldwell is using much more of the playbook and getting as creative as he can be.
And I believe we will see things every week we seldom see.
And if something works, Caldwell will come back to it again later in the game.
Caldwell has the advantage of knowing what other teams are watching and preparing to stop based on Cam, not him.
Pagano knows many of our players and some of their strengths and weaknesses. So does Caldwell.
I think it is up to Caldwell to be the bigger difference maker. He has the upper hand right now.
