Re: NFC championship game thread
Yea, but many thought we'd struggle against Nicks, Cruz, Wayne, Demaryius Thomas, and Erick Decker.
I'm not saying that the Falcons aren't going to be able to throw the ball. Roddy and Julio are two of the best in the league. However, Corey Graham and Chykie Brown are playing really well right now...enough that I think that they could at least "contain" those two from making a ton of huge plays. The Niners' front 7 is damn good, but their secondary leaves a lot o be desired and that is what the Falcons are exploiting right now. When it comes to quarterbacks, don't pay attention to stats; pay attention to guys who make crucial plays at crucial times. -Gil Brandt

Personally I think Atlanta will be the tougher matchup.

Re: NFC championship game thread
If 49ers get beat, look for some interesting calls against us tonight. Falcons-Ravens was listed as "least exciting SB matchup", though I don't understand why NE-Atlanta is better...

Re: NFC championship game thread
Can the 49ers make it a game after a terrible start like the Seahawks did last week?
This is looking like one of those games that were all hype but turn out to be a dud.

Re: NFC championship game thread
Everytime Matt Ryan says "Olive" they run it up the middle. They haven't changed the call since that SoundFX episode. Surprised no players or coaches caught onto that.

Re: NFC championship game thread
I mean, obviously you're implying that the refs have a vested interest in a more marketable super bowl? As much as I would like to believe that, I can't. Though a Harbowl would be pretty awesome, I think there are WAY more storylines in a BAL-ALT SB than NE-ATL. Nobody wants to see Tom Brady lose in the Superbowl again... Flacco vs. Ryan would be a great story.

Re: NFC championship game thread
Falcons are one team in their dome, another very different one away. I would like the Ravens's chances against them in the SB. But before that, there's that pesky game in a couple of hours.

Re: NFC championship game thread
This game is getting ugly. That was a nice throw and catch for 7 in tight coverage.

Re: NFC championship game thread
Remember, the ref we had tonight was the head ref in the Steelers-Seahawks SB...

Re: NFC championship game thread
It is surely easier to be a great QB throwing to these guys.

Re: NFC championship game thread
I dont understand why a Ravens/Falcons SB would be the "least exciting matchup". Seems to me that would be a quintessential match up. Two 1st round QB's from the same year facing off against each other.

I think Atlanta is the tougher matchup. They play well indoors. Right now I'm impressed with how clean Ryan has been. Their o line has been excellent.

Re: NFC championship game thread
This is depressing. If it's a Falcons-Cheatriots Super Bowl, I will absolutely not care who wins. Puts all the more pressure on us to win later.

Re: NFC championship game thread
I can't remember who put that out, to me I like a Ryan vs Flacco matchup.
Wouldn't say ballgame yet. Remember, Seattle was down 17-0 last week....
