The Superbowl is not held for the fans of the teams that are participating. It is held as a thank you to the companies that spend 3 million for 30 seconds of advertising. Yes, fans can get tickets through the secondary market if they want to pay through the nose, and a select few fans will win the ticket lottery, but let's not act like $850 is a bargain to watch a sporting event. I would say over half of the people that attend the Superbowl don't even have a real rooting interest. This is why the NFL is reluctant to hold the event in open air cold weather stadiums. This is why you have the silly half-time show.

my coworker has 2 friends that work at cbs, they both got all expense paid trips to the super bowl, only one of them is a football fan

A guy who was on my Same Day charter bus to/from Foxboro checked his email at one point on the ride home, and had won 2. A big thrill for him and his 54 "new best buddies," and we got to see what the correspondance & prices looked like.

I had never won squat from the Ravens as a [4] PSL holder since 2007, despite early payment in full each year for that lottery, and requesting extra home playoff tix the last 2 years. Well blow me down - I won the right to purchase 2 extra endzone corner tix to the Wild Card this year. Which I promptly bought and then sold [to a cop of all people

]for a quick $200 profit.

I knew that was all my luck for the year and probably a few years to come.

Look it is not about whether I won or not. It is about the process. With the lottery the rules are clearly available for everyone to see and each player has an equal chance. But if I played the lottery and found out that is was fixed, yes I would complain. Here are the questions I asked the Ravens to answer but did not get a response:

How many tickets were allocated to the SB Ticket lottery?

How was the lottery conducted?

There was a recent post to the website which stated that club seat owners received a higher weighted chance at tickets? What were the respective weights?

How many winners were there by stadium Section (e.g. Section 524 had 4 winners)?

The announcement about non-winners of the lottery received a prompt to go the Prime Sports website, and were offered TICKET ONLY packages. Can you explain how Prime Sports received so many tickets not associated with travel?

Was the length of time a PSL holder has owned tickets taken into consideration in the drawing?

Were PSL owners who won tickets in 2001, included in the drawing, if YES, why is was it fair to those to did not get tickets in 2001 to include past winners in the drawing?

So if it is discovered that the Ravens got 12,500 tickets and used Prime Sports as a surrogate to "scalpe" 5,000 tickets for way above face value and didn't include them in the lottery pool, while you have been a season ticket holder for 17 years and paid over $40k to the Ravens in PSL and season tickets, that wouldn't be an issue to you? Is that the way you treat loyal, fanatic customers? Transparency is all I ask. Last year the Giants and the Pats posted their method as well as how many tickets were in the pool. Why have the Ravens not done that? Do they have something to hide?

Several posters were not only very clear about how the lottery is setup and works, but they actually provided you that information in their posts. And the info was very specific. They've answered most if not all of your questions with information obtained directly from the Ravens and made available to PSL owners but you were apparently too lazy to read it.

So you want to see a winners list, huh? I live in Missouri, the Show Me state. Did you grow up here or something?

Honestly, you are ranting and whining as if you were a 15 year old. Get over it and yourself. And if you can't get over it, then make a statement with your wallet - sell you PSLs if you are that upset about it. It is as simple as that.

Sorry but my questions were not answered. All that is on the Ravens website is generalities. This started when I got the Ravens with the link to PRIME SPORTS which had TICKET ONLY PACKAGEs.

You started off bitching about Bisciotti's supposed greed over a market / prices he has no control over and you've moved the goal posts to now wanting transparency when all you have to do is do a moderate amount of research or simply read your PSL agreement..

If you read my original post the main issue and the thing that set me off was the link to Prime Sports where as the Ravens partner they offered ticket only packages. What it looks like to me and many others that they got these tickets from the Ravens. Again transparency is what I am asking here. I would also note that after we beat Denver I wrote the Ravens and asked for details on the SB ticket lottery and didn't get a response. I then wrote on Monday and didn't get a response. It is not complaining just to complain...just seeking transparency.

His questions have yet to be answered, I am not sure why people keep lying about that fact repeatedly.

There are two reasonable responses to his complaints: a) answering his questions (which no one apparently can do because the information is not public) or b) simply and politely telling him that the team has a right to do exactly what he is complaining about (not releasing the information) even if it seems unseemly to him.

An unreasonable response is one where you lie about him already having the answers or insult him about wanting to know the answers. There are many unreasonable responses on this thread.

At least this is a response that I can understand. Thank you. The other thing, is that I like everyone else on this board am a Raven fan who loves the team, that wears a Ravens laynard at work every day, that has a Ravens flag flying in my office, that has a Ravens screen saver, Ravens license plates, who wants the Ravens to win the Superbowl.
