He's been a great player but it seems to me as soon as he signs a contract he's looking to break it and get more... over and over

He's not worth the cost to trade for him, nor the money it would cost to keep him, nor the headache he would be in the locker room. That sounds like three strikes.

Once again, the comment section of the article's page is hilarious.

    Smart move on their part.

With as bad as their team is and the rebuilding phase they're in Revis is a luxury item.

Stud CB coming off knee surgery, sorry we already have another one in the same boat. Besides his contract is to cap prohibitive for us

They cant. His contract wont let them.

The Jets are a fucking circus...and Woody Johnson is the ring leader. What a crappy situation.

Some have started to point out that they couldn't let Rex go because the team is going to be such a disaster next year that it would be unfair to the new guy. That team's going to struggle to get to 6 or 7 wins and then they'll clean house again next year.

While we're at it, why don't we just also go out and pick up Nnamdi Asomugha?

good luck. He may be the "best" db in the league (anyone with skill that gets away with holding as much as he does would arguably be as good though) but I dont think hes worth the cost plus likely a new contract. If I were the jets Id try to though. Hes your best asset on a team that needs rebuilt. at 28 next year, its possible to rebuild in his window but I just dont think its needed when you can down grade, maybe even to a cary williams, and use that savings to fill other roster spots where youre really hurting. Cromartie and Revis should be a flyer to teams that even though its a passing league spending big in that department alone isnt a good strategy. depth and youth is better because injuries inevitably happen in the secondary. We learned that the hard way, but are now better off for it.

Two years ago everyone wanted Nmandi Assmonger and looked how he worked out for the Eagles. Pedestrian although he was able to draw a BS offensive PI call from some scab refs to save a win against us but I doubt that made him worth what they paid for him. I like how we're building talent these days, with the occasional poached FA from Houston.

Ravens owner, GM, Head Coach, and coaching staff are always making the right moves compared to the Jets. Who keep digging a hole to get out of a hole. Shame they are in that division and will have to wait for belicheat and brady to retire. If backing into the postseason is the only way, they should huld more prayer sessions with the whole team.

Agreed. This is a desperate move from a team that made a lot of dumb decisions to put itself in cap jail. If they're smart they'll just blow the whole thing up. It looks like that's exactly what they plan on doing.
