Re: Oh, geez, here it comes (dread)...
Whether it contains IGF-1 does not matter, RL has said he didn't take it. This is a scam company trying to get free publicity. Until proven otherwise, this story is just a heap of refuse.

Re: Oh, geez, here it comes (dread)...
Ray did admit talking to the guy. So that removes a lot of the speculation about "whether it was really him on the phone." At least in one instance, he did. And he admitted asking for something from them. And I agree it's not unreasonable to assume that (a) the antler stuff was included, and (b) that he actually took it.
I'd say both (a) and (b) are more likely than not true.
Where that leaves us is still questionable, but certainly as I said earlier, if this spray was actually banned at the time of the order being placed then he likely had every intent to violate the policy -- and probably did.
The unknown is really whether the spray had the banned ingredient in it, or had enough of it, to violate the league's drug policy.
Certainly it wouldn't shock me if these dudes just sent sugar pills in a bottle and called it anything to make a buck. I see no reason so far to conclude that the pills actually contained enough IGH-1 or whatever its called to violate the drug policy. Have any of the articles shown an analysis of this product? Has it been tested? No one likes us, and we don't care.

Re: Oh, geez, here it comes (dread)...
I guess my point is that IGF-1 is the banned substance. That info. is available to the players. Its on them not to put that into their body. If they eat some of their dogs dog treats on a dare, and it happens to have that in there, well they have taken a banned substance. They cant plea ignorance, and say that the NFL didnt tell them that beggin strips contained something that was on the banned substance list. Its on the players to make sure they are not taking banned substances. Maybe the NFL knew that the company was a little shady and that players should stay away from it. But they shouldnt have to list every product on the market that contains every banned substance in it.

Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider
Mitch Ross added he was in touch with Ray Lewis via text to set up a healing protocol for his torn triceps immediately after Cowboys game

I spoke with Mitch Ross, who alleged giving Ray Lewis deer antler velvet spray, says: 'Ray is not a cheater. He did it the right way.'

Mitch Ross: 'This is not a steroid. The league is uneducated.'
Aaron Wilson @RavensInsider
Mitch Ross on Ray Lewis: 'The bad thing is he's denying it. Ray shouldn't have anything to hide. This is a natural product.'

I guess they won't let me post on PFT anymore because I've reached my positive quota about Ray Lewis. What a fucking joke.

Fwiw on the body building forum I frequent the consensus on this deer antler extract is that it's bs like most supplements. People didn't experience any positive effects from it as far as strength or muscle gain.

Re: Oh, geez, here it comes (dread)...
Ian Rapoport from the NFL Network just put some cold water on the story, essentially saying that Ross' credibility is highly questionable, that he's been sued by former players, and is always looks to push his products and get publicity.

A rehashed story from two years ago, about a substance that may have been banned at the time of the first report, that the NFL didn't look into at the time, while the NFL has no current intention of seeking out S.W.A.T.S, yet again.

Re: Oh, geez, here it comes (dread)...
So is Ross five minutes of fame over with? Ravens have pissed off a lot of people this year, constantly winning when the talking heads said they wouldn't. King should be sued and barred from writing if this story is false. Notice what king said yesterday in his MMQ about the Ravens. Yea, thats right, he said nothing. Ravens have made him look like a complete ass this year. Hope Ray has a great lawyer and sues everyone involved.

Re: Oh, geez, here it comes (dread)...
Just watched Ray vehemently deny it on NFLN. It was also reported on NFLN the guy Ross is a sleaze ball who obviously will stop at nothing to promote his products. I'm sure his antler velvet concoction is not regulated or inspected by the FDA and I'd question how they extract deer antler velvet into something you spray in your mouth. It's probably more likely you're spraying deer piss in your mouth which might explain the taste.
The substance in question, IGF-1 has been synthesized in the lab and is commercially available. Ray has the money and resources to get a pharmaceutical grade product discreetly, if he wanted to. Why would he talk to a publicity seeking sleaze ball who's track record is dubious and likely to lead to nothing but bad publicity. Incredulously, Ray laughed it off.
This is tabloid style sports news at it's worst. As a Ravens and a Ray fan I'm not happy that this story has the legs it does. I won't entertain this notion or visit this thread again without a substantive and reliable source reporting.
