Re: 49'ers have all the matchup advantages?

The thing I keep hearing is that Frank Gore has a better chance to gain more yards on the ground than Ray Rice, yet I never hear any of them mention anything about either of them catching passes for yards, first downs, ect...

Re: 49'ers have all the matchup advantages?

Our return coverage might blow this year, but because it's being played in a dome, the kicks should be booming enough to take returns out of the game, at least for kick-offs. Punt returns might be problem, but we should plan for that by scoring on every drive, or failing that, kicking it high and deep, and not trying to get cute by worring about pinning them within the 20.

Since Justin Smith’s injury, their standard pressure has gotten a sack once every 25.1 dropbacks.

Aldon Smith posted 19.5 sacks through the first 14 weeks, all with Justin Smith on the field. Since Justin Smith’s injury, Aldon Smith has no sacks.

In 5 years we have had people say they would take Mark Sanchez, Josh Freeman, Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, Matt Shaub, Andy Dalton and a dozen others over Flacco. Haters gonna hate.

Kirwan's radio partner Tim Ryan is all on the 49ers as well.

I'm sure his personal relationship with many of their players and he factbthatbhe tweets photos to Patrick Willis have nothing to do with it..........

There are some personal relationships involved. Then, (Now keep in mind that the game still has to be played), I think some media outlets are going out of their way to be even handed with their praise and criticism to spruce this one up.

IMHO Ravens STs were pretty decent overall until injuries pushed backups who'd been their backbone into starting gigs & moved less talented/experienced players into those roles. With most all the starters back & good to go, that may no longer be an issue.

The 49ers do win a lot of the match ups on paper, though it's closer than some people think. Of course the same thing was said about the Patriots and the Broncos, and we know how that worked out for them.

I don't get it either. But it doesn't surprise me. I think this game is going to be a very hard fought battle. The kicking game could be the difference in this one and we have a huge advantage in that matchup.

49ers went into Foxboro and gave up 34 points.
5 weeks later, the Ravens went into Foxboro and gave up 13 points.

I still don't understand how we beat the Colts and Giants, rolled into Denver and beat the Broncos, then rolled into Foxboro and beat the Patriots for the second time this year; yet somehow there is no way we are beating Colin "9 starts" Kaepernick.

I'm so tired of hearing how unstoppable the 49ers are.

The matchup advantage that I think is going to make the difference is Ngata on anybody. If you are blowing up the interior, watch the pistol disintegrate. Ngata is my X Factor.

Let 'em call the Ravens old.

    Old age & treachery--i.e., maturity & wisdom--will always overcome youth & skill.

    I'll take this advantage!

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter New Orleans filled with more Ravens' fans than 49ers' fans, which should translate into something of a homefield advantage for Baltimore.

LOL, I saw Bill Williamson on his "Final Word" prediction (27-24 Niners) say that "obviously the 49'ers have more weapons than the Ravens", and had to stop from laughing my OJ onto the keyboard. I mean really Bill? Those are some real red colored glasses buddy.

I really hope we curbstomp the fuck out of these guys tonight.

Yeah I'm pretty fed up with Kaepernick love fest.

Media is always enamored with the QB that can run. Once that QB plays a crap game they turn around and say that a team can't win consistently without a pocket passer.

They act like Kaepernick can't make a mistake. We'll see.
